Jasmine Thompson also got all the way to #2 in 2015 with a Tropical House cover of "Ain't Nobody" by Chaka Khan. Lil Pump, Kanye West and their Roblox suits reached #3 in 2018.

 

I remember Tones and I's age causing a minor stir. Someone found a video from 2009 in which she was ~18. Very much not 9.

Just to credit my mate, who suggested the Jackson 5 this morning and I'd identified that Wacko beat Kate Bush to the 1958 title by a couple of years, but hadn't got around to posting it today.

It interested me finding out out that the Jacksons had to wait until 1977 for their first UK #1, a full eight years after their first US #1. Though to be fair, they did have two UK top fives in 69/70, so they could’ve broken through much earlier with a bit more luck.

In the US Wonder is the youngest #1 for a solo act to this day. He had his first charttopper aged 13 in 1963, 21 years before doing so in the UK!

 

A weird year on the US charts too. Besides Wonder, the Four Seasons, and Bobby Vinton, every other charttopper that year only did so once, and in many cases they had no more hits period.
