Alright, time for this to happen again. My neglect shan't continue however, your new host is @wannamaker! (I only made the thread to have my name on it, a.k.a. narcissism)

Repeating the rules for new entrants:

  • Have a list of 10 political candidates.
  • This includes Presidents, Vice Presidents, Prime Ministers, Deputy Prime Ministers, Dictators, Parliamentarians, as well as losing candidates. (so you can have Jimmy Carter, Dan Quayle, John Major, Nick Clegg, Kim Jong Un as well as Michael Dukakis - oh and don't forget the random MPs and Representatives.)
  • They can be from any UN member state and from any election within said nations.
  • Order them from most likely to least likely.
  • You get 10 points for first place, 9 for second, 8 for third, etc. etc.
  • One extra point is awarded for unique picks.
  • One extra point is awarded for murders/unexpected deaths, as long as you don't commit them yourselves...
  • You can't pick someone who will be executed. (as to be expected)
  • Pick two subs please.
  • And if you've got one with no Wikipedia page, then SEND A LINK EXPLAINING WHO THEY ARE!!!
  • If one of the picks is dead, @ wannamaker when you tell us, please.

  • Entries don't close - join whenever (unless wannamaker changes this)

Send entries to wannamaker.

While we wait for Jimmy Carter to cark it, It's time to do a February update:

Controversial Pakistani leader Pervez Musharraf was surprisingly a unique hit for @DeathBecomesThem, and his death gives them 10 points (9 for position +1 for a unique pick).

Czechoslovakian Prime Minister Lubomír Štrougal is the first hit in this pool that's shared between two users, @MariNisia and @The Old Crem both get 7 points, as they both placed Štrougal at number 4.

@DeathBecomesThem is now the leader with 14 points, followed by @arghton with 11. Most players haven't scored points yet, but the 39th POTUS might do another charitable donation sooner than later...

It's been a dull 2 months for the Electoral Deadpool, those pesky politicians just don't seem to die!

After a dry month of March with 0 deaths, April gave us the staggering amount of.... 1 death.

Nigel Lawson, conservative PM & part of Maggie Thatcher's cabinet, was the one that croaked. His "big" (;)) economic reforms, climate change denialism & Brexit support made him a controversial figure (as made apparent by the reactions of our fellow forum users when his death was announced).

Lawson's death gives @LizLemon 2 points (1 for position + 1 for a unique pick). No big changes on the leaderboard, @DeathBecomesThem still in the lead & the majority of the players still have 0 points!!! May May give this game some life with some deaths. Carter, we're waiting...
