What are you drinking?

Post your favourite tipples here.

I have recently got into the habit of mixing a nightly cocktail.  Currently enjoying a Bakewell Tart Sour

Brandy, amaretto, cherry syrup, fresh lemon juice, angostura bitters

Awesome.

Right up my straße, this thread.

It's summer (apparently), so it's white wine season. One of my faves is this gorgeous crisp white from Naked Wines, complete with interesting Jules Verne inspired label:

Some similar ingredients to my favourite: homemade Singapore Sling (Lemon juice, cherry liqueur, angostura bitters, gin, pineapple juice, benedictine, cointreau, grenadine syrup)

Best cocktail bar I've ever been to was Lucy's Flower Shop in Stockholm. The rye and apple with malt vinegar was truly godly:

Here it is, just the lemon juice swapped for lime.

I love Benedictine, also with brandy as a B&B.  I must get a bottle.

If we’re talking cocktails, the Oyster Creek Kitchen in Sarfend does a Pineapple and Jalapeño Margarita (with a salty rim, ooooh) which is bloody lovely

By chance I won a bottle of Theakstons Old Peculier in a raffle a few weeks ago.  It was a nice amber ale, tasting faintly of choclate to me (website claims it is cherry and banana).  Enjoyed it after work and would certainly try it again, if I could find it!

Had a lemon-lavender prosecco spritzer over the weekend. Very nice refreshing summer drink.

Some of the menus here have already switched to fall drinks: bitter, pumpkin ones which I'm not fond of.

Funny, I won a bottle of Jagermeister on a village fete bottle stall a few weeks ago.  While it would have been a long way down my shopping list, it was a good prize for 20p.

Ugh. Jäger tastes like my late teens. Can't face the stuff anymore, I've suffered enough.

Tonight's cocktail is Hazelnut Alexander

Brandy, crème de cacao, hazelnut liqueur, cream, angostura bitters

Lush, but next time I might try it with a tad more cacao and a tad less brandy.

James May's Asian Parsnip Gin and Mediterranean Tonic this evening, garnished with a couple of cardamom pods. It's one of my favourite gins, but somehow I fancy a cocktail now.

Enjoying a Honey Wall

White rum, Tuaca, crème de cacao.

You would swear there was honey in it but there isn't. Lovely.

A 2018 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo which has been sitting on the shelf in my drinks cupboard maturing for nigh on two years. Drinking lovely now, with a smooth, lingering cherry finish on it.

A Beer on Friday night after my grandson’s football/soccer game.

NB! Update: they lost 2 -0.

Nutty Summer

Advocaat, coconut rum, pineapple juice, amaretto, cream, with a garnish of 3 drops of angostura

Delicious!  I was unfamiliar with advocaat before my cocktail adventures. What a nice surprise, it's like custard with brandy in it:P

I wasn't brought up on the rare treat of a Snowball at Christmas like other kids.  No ! I was allowed a small glass of whatever the grownups were having, all year round.

My bottle of Warninks is nearly empty and I shall have to replenish soon.

Sounds lush, good to see the Warninks out outside of Christmas.

Snowballs are a bit meh as they normally are but whack some rhubarb syrup and a shot of vanilla vodka in there and you've a boozy rhubarb & custard!

Tonight will be a typical Saturday night in all the downtown areas in Norway that have college students. They’re back!

I'm home alone this weekend and enjoying a bottle of this reasonably priced South African Shiraz-Syrah-Viognier blend. Viognier in a red sounds all wrong but it gives this otherwise fairly peppery wine a mouthwatering little lift.
