Toast

What are you drinking?

Recommended Posts

I tried an Alexander's Sister tonight.

Gin, crème de menthe, cream, sugar syrup

It was OK, but somewhat marred, I thought, by the suggested nutmeg garnish.

I'm surprised at you for drinking the Irish stuff.

Experimenting with Jameson.  Meh, still prefer 12 year old Glenfiddich.

I can't afford it these days, but I love Lagavulin.

A L'Ancienne Du Bois

Brandy, walnut liqueur, cocktail cherries, maple syrup, orange bitters

Wow, this is nice.  I didn't have the specified bitters so used orange bitters, and my own home-made nocello (walnut liqueur).

(Grenadian 69% ABV) white rum & (Tropicana smooth) orange. Last night, you understand, not right now.

Went to the pub last night, so just boring old gin and tonics.

Nothing boring about that!

(Unless it was Bombay Sapphire)

Last night I indulged in a very naughty International Incident

Baileys, vodka, amaretto, Kahlua, Frangelico

A little heavy on the Baileys; another time I would halve that to match the others.

Just off out for leaving drinks. I suspect the answer to the thread's question will be 'a lot'.

We have a Beer thread so I presume Toast meant anything other than beer; she wouldn’t have created a duplicate thread.

It isn't a duplicate thread.  Any kind of drink may be mentioned.

What do you think the afore mentioned Theakston's Old Peculier is?

But if there is a problem with beer I will delete it, I wouldn't want to anoy the fourm's self appointed peeler.

Would this meet with your approval?

Your beers are most welcome, Paddy.  The thread is about what it says in the title.  No exclusions.

Meanwhile today I happened upon a reasonably priced bottle of crème de mure (blackberry liqueur).  I've always preferred this to cassis in a kir, so I snapped it up.

Have just enjoyed a delicious Bramble

Gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, crème de mure and loads of ice.  Beautiful.

This one but it was only £13.99 in a local independent off-licence. Bargain!
