I've already explained.  It's nothing to do with her nationality, and her death will certainly be reported by UK media, so it's not that either.  My objection is twofold.

 

1.  There are already 2 existing threads where she can be discussed.

2.  It's pointless opening a thread for someone who's pretty much on their deathbed as there will be no activities to discuss. The only news we're likely to get now is her death.

I reckon it might be a reflected glory, trainspotting kind of thing. I’ll admit to a frisson of guilty pleasure when ‘my’ Amy Winehouse and George Michael threads bore fruit (so to speak), as I will with Bono if the pint-sized prannet should depart before me (I’d say it’s 50/50 on that).

Earlier this month, in September, she went out of her Parisian apartment for a walking accompanied by her daughter Claude and a care assistant.

Here, it's the picture of her during her walking, sitting in her wheelchair, she is looking very frail, but her health doesn't seem to be worsened since last pictures of her from 2020.

I wonder how many have 2 wives that are DL-worthy. I'm thinking of Vaclav Havel who had Olga Havlova (famous for being the subject of Letters to Olga) and then Dagmar Havlova (nee Veskrnova, actress) later on. Pretty sure both would get / did get UK obits.
