machotrouts 828 Posted July 14 Glad to be able to participate this time – I wanted to in 2019, but the deadline clash with the Derby Dead Pool (and most of the other pools on the forum) made it impossible. Unfortunately, here in 2024, I still underestimated how long it'd take to research and ended up last-minute-panicking most of it. Well, looking forward to 2029. LABOUR: 1. Sir Keir Starmer 2. RoverAndOut 4,746 Posted July 14 Forgot to enter, so another parliament spent on the sidelines. On the plus side, I expect this one to be considerably less turbulent than the last one, but I may be proven wrong.

Then I thought 650 to work through for a list of 65? I'm trying to get less lazy about entering pools since I usually enjoy it when I do, but there are limits and I determined this was waaay too much effort especially given the possible time-frame and that I'd lose anyway. Kudos and good luck to those that expended the energy and entered and to the efforts of Sean for running it.

Kudos and good luck to those that expended the energy and entered and to the efforts of Sean for running it. I planned to enter but this week's been really busy and, like you, 65 names was too many to pull together at short notice. Went through the MP list once and got to less than half the number needed, didn't have time to investigate likely issues amongst the new intake. It's a fun game to be part of, but, like I say, I'd expect there to be less hits in the next 5 years. Good luck everybody!

Scott Arthur (Labour, Edinburgh South West) 65. Wes Streeting (Labour, Ilford North) Well, it's a team. Don't think there's any duplicates. Some were logical picks, others were clutching at straws. Personally, I'd be very surprised if we hit double figures for by-elections in this parliament. Not that many elderly MPs left and lots of new blood. Of course, given the Labour victory was so big, it is perfectly possible there's a few wrong-uns who've slipped through as no-hopers, so we'll see. Think my picks are as follows: 24 - Labour 23 - Conservative 5 - Independent 5 - Reform 3 - DUP 2 - Lib Dem 1 - Speaker 1 - TUV 1 - SNP
