msc 18,579 Posted December 20 Taking Joey's advice, I sent in my theme teams and got an acknowledgement. The Dr Who one will be much as before given no one really died. There is one welcome return (after a heads up elsewhere) and a few fresh names. The Notable Oldies team welcomes back a few former picks, finds space for a few old favourites yet to make their DDP debut, and has half a dozen names I was shocked to find are still alive. Still couldn't find room for Lynda Chalker so someone else will have to go for her. Will post the theme team drops in the Ideas thread in a moment for people who want to fit them into their own plans.

Yes I'm currently working on my three DDP teams and I also have had to drop Lynda Chalker from consideration because I have so many great and varied options to choose from in my lists. It would be a shame if she isn't picked by someone though as I think she'd be a great pick and worthy pick and it would be a shame for her to end up on the list of the missed in 2025. . YoungWillz 21,284 Posted December 21 I have submitted my three teams for the DDP 2025. Received an acknowledgement. Will they all survive until 2025? Will I? Is this my year for victory at last? All these questions answered in about a year or so. Thanks to all of the Committee for your hard work this year and your unenviable task over the next month or so.

Summer in Transylvania 2,231 Posted Sunday at 21:21 I've written my teams up and created an email draft, but having made a fair few alterations in the last few days alone, I'm holding back on submitting until after Christmas.

Gooseberry Crumble 5,385 Posted Thursday at 23:11 Finally entered my three Crumble teams. Phew now breathe!!! as that was a real Labour of love . I am biased but to my mind they are all tasty delicious crumbles but I don't yet dare to hope I have got 60 unique picks. Its on a knife edge. Thank you to all on the DDP committee and anybody else who assists them for your efforts. Total respect Good luck and Best Wishes to all who enter this top class gold standard deadpool in 2025.

The DDP would be a lot less interesting without you, @Gooseberry Crumble. I wish you good luck over the next twelve months, too. I'm a big fan of your super strong enema. 1

Never underestimate the enema
drunkasaskunk 197 Posted 13 hours ago Have players stopped chasing the elusive Unique Hit in favour of going for the low hanging - and almost as lucrative - fruit that is the Drop 40 bonus? Out of the top ten CURRENT scores in DDP24 only TWO unique hits have been scored.

I think so.Unique picks are really difficult to find given the number of names selected every year.Plus it's risky to aim for a unique as if they aren't unique and with the increase in the quality of players it's a real gamble.Drop 40 picks on the other hand are not too difficult to predict and you can easily get a majority of your picks to appear on the Drop 40 with far less research and media savvy calls such as exposure of picks and how widespread news of their illness is. In short scouting for unique picks for a one point advantage that is risky and could just give you regular points if your unique isn't actually a unique which is a big and potentially costly risk over Drop 40 near slam dunks it seems not worth the risk for the potential benefit.
Commtech Sio Bibble 2,134 Posted 12 hours ago Trying to find a unique is one of my favourite parts of deadpooling. Finding someone not too famous, who has a good chance of dying in the next 12 months and who is in with a decent chance of a QO is hard. A lot easier to go for someone based on age, which is what I do mostly. And thankfully I got 2/3 of the uniques I wanted this past year in the DDP, although none of them have died, I have no regrets.
JQW 289 Posted 12 hours ago I've put my main list together, but I'll wait a day or two before submitting, just in case another suitable candidate appears in the meantime. I've still got to work on my theme teams. The jazz one is almost complete, I just need a few more picks and reserves who should at a QO - not too obscure, then. I've a couple of ideas for other teams, but I'm having problems finding 20 suitable entries for either.

Out of the top ten CURRENT scores in DDP24 only TWO unique hits have been scored. Uniques were much easier to find and spot when Yahoo was giving out QOs as easily as they were. If you found a Yahoo link when researching all you had to do was to check if it did the uk trick and there would be like a 50% chance of them getting a QO. However, that doesn't really seem to be a thing anymore and neither of them would most likely QO in 2025. Most of the other uniques I've seen over the years are from very region-based researching that probably wouldn't come up for most, or just obscure shot in the darks.
