Any thoughts? If she has never run for or been elected to a political office, then she should not be allowed. (She qualifies for the Centenarians Dead Pool though.) Any thoughts? I would say that, as First Lady/Gentleman is a widely-recognised role in politics, even if it is not a particularly involved one, both al-Assad and Camacho Quiros should be allowed. I think it's debatable whether spouses of lesser politicians (for example Doug Emhoff) should be allowed, I'm inclined to say no, but First Lady/Gentleman is, in my opinion, a well-known enough role to warrant inclusion in this pool, albeit only because of who they married. Banning First Ladies also rejects people like Michelle Obama, who never held political office but were politically involved during the tenures of their spouses.

Any thoughts? I remember writing the rules to exclude Rosalynn Carter, who was a First Lady but never sought political office.

DoorSlammer 597 Posted December 31, 2024 Well, that's both Carter and Ruutel dead. Guess both of my subs will now be in place. Do I have to pick one more sub, just in case Tebbit bites the dust in the next hour?
