THESNOWFANATIC 21 Posted December 6, 2023 I posted it here, because I am a newbie and this is the only thread that I have posted in. I am a huge Norman Lear fan, and I was reporting it since it is a breaking news story. I wasn't expecting the insults, I was not trying to be morbid. I tried posting it in the Norman Lear thread, but for some reason it is not connecting. 5

THESNOWFANATIC 21 Posted December 6, 2023 I was under the impression that people in these threads posted in all of them, not just for a particular celebrity. Now I understand that. There was no need for insults.

JustPassingThrough 148 Posted December 6, 2023 Funnily enough, Norman Lear did not vote for Carter in 1980. He actively campaigned for John Anderson, a liberal Republican-turned-independent candidate.

THESNOWFANATIC 21 Posted December 8, 2023 I have to say that looking at Jimmy Carter's appearance at his wife's funeral, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't make it to February. He shows signs of severe vascular disease and muscle wasting, even worse than Jerry Ford by 2006. 1 1

Who of the 2 will win?

arrowsmith 444 Posted December 10, 2023 5 hours ago, Toast said: Gerry, not Jerry. Actually, no. Many spelled it that way but when it was written by those who knew him they usually spelled it with a ‘j’. Probably because Gerald was not his given name. It was Leslie. I believe Gerald came from the childhood nickname Jerry. https://geraldrfordfoundation.org/gerald-r-ford-biography/ 2

He was often called Jerry but Jimmy Carter was never called by his actual given name.
