I guess it just goes to show that not everyone who makes it to 109, is going to make it to be 110. (Yes, I'm being sarcastic)
arghton 6,715 Posted December 27, 2022 Kahoru Furuya, Japanese supercentenarian, Japan's second-oldest person and the oldest person ever with a pacemaker being reported dead at 114. Yahoo News regionblocked article. 3
Lafaucheuse 4,046 Posted December 27, 2022 Update on Randon’s condition : apparently she’s good and they’re planning a photoshoot this afternoon for her 2023 greeting card. They’re also planning her upcoming 119 birthday. She won’t give any interview anymore because it’s exhausting for her but she’s said to be well. Let’s see.

Clarence 58 Posted December 28, 2022 Mrs. Matsu Gaja, the oldest person in Okinawa Prefecture, passed away on December 25 2022 at the age of 114. She was born in February 1908 and lived in Nakagusuku Village. RIP. She is not validated that's why she's not in Top 10.

Lafaucheuse 4,046 Posted December 31, 2022 New photo of Lucille Randon for her 2023 greeting card. Shared « exclusively » for the facebook group I’m a member of (woops). She looks really great I think. Apparently she chose the setting herself
Lafaucheuse 4,046 Posted December 31, 2022 I think she went downhill mentally (can't have interview anymore for example) but physically, judging from this photo only, she looks good. She may well see her 119th birthday (unless I jinxed her)
arghton 6,715 Posted December 31, 2022 Can't really predict what'll happen at such an age. She could live another year or die suddenly today. Sarah Knauss died "abruptly while sitting in her chair", Kane Tanaka was hospitalised, on oxygen unable to hear, see or talk at the time of her death.
Hanzem 708 Posted December 31, 2022 She looks better than Kane Tanaka did at the same age. There is a good chance she will see 119.

DaDeathGuy 202 Posted January 5, 2023 Hendricks is an example of someone getting so old it's surreal. Her oldest child died at 90 a few years ago, and all her other children lived in the same nursing home as her.
Hanzem 708 Posted January 5, 2023 RIP Bessie Hendricks. December and January are bad months for supercentenarians.
Hanzem 708 Posted January 5, 2023 Fusa Tatsumi looks extremely frail for more than 2 years now. In this period many supercentenarians in top ranks, seemingly in better condition, have died, but she keeps going. She reminds me of Nabi Tajima.
Hanzem 708 Posted January 5, 2023 Young noted that Bessie Hendricks “appeared to be physically OK” until she contracted COVID-19 just days ago. Hendricks he said, “may be the oldest person to die from COVID.” https://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/news/her-next-birthday-cake-will-have-115-candles-making-her-the-oldest-living/
