Yes, you're right. But as we've just had a reigning Queen for 70 years, 'Queen Camilla' is the way to go to avoid confusion.

No, what did she say?

Lardy said she was fancying the prospect of a bank holiday - to be clear, it was a typical dead pan Lardy joke and not to be taken seriously.

Just made me laugh so thought I'd mention it

Dog was at least 13 years old and so near the end of her life anyway.

JRTs can live a good bit longer than that.

You know, it took me until now to realise the corgis are no longer 'the Royal dogs'. Seems they've been demoted. I kind of assumed Charles kept them around after his mother's death because they're that strongly associated with the monarchy as a breed.

And weirdly enough, corgis seem to have become more popular as a breed in my personal experience since the Queen died. I never saw so many out with their owners back when she was still going.

Pretty sure Prince Andrew owns them now.

100% agree with this. See them everywhere now.

The two remaining corgis were a gift to the late Queen from Andrew and Sarah after her last corgi died.

She had been reluctant to get any more dogs because at her age she knew they would outlive her, but Sarah promised to give them a home in that sad event.

As it happened one of the puppies did die before her, so they got her another.

I spotted this book in Waterstones the other day. It was in the 'humour' section but I just think it looks sad:

Where's Maam.jpg

I don't mind this. Corgis are generally cute, and much less likely to want to eat me or otherwise attack me than much larger dogs.

Worth pointing out that they’re quite popular in the U.S. these days as well. I don’t think it has much to do with the late Queen Elizabeth but more to do with their photogenic nature in an era of posting pictures online constantly.

They do have a reputation for nipping ankles.

They're much friendlier than larger dogs in general though.

Been quite the year for the Royal’s Health.

This is minor in comparison. Well, except in a person of her age...

Well, they're not going to bite your nose off without Doggy stilts.

I love how a thread about Camilla Park and Ride has transcended into a discussion of other dogs.
