Windsor 2,233 Posted February 14, 2006 Indeed, I felt that there were more deserving members out there who deserved the title of moderater. I even nominated my successor. who was he? (i was away for a while) and whats that 'warn' thing under my name? It was a she, a she who shall remain nameless because she wasn't appointed. Everybody has a warn thing under their name but you can only see your own unless you are a mod or admin.

Captain Oates 21 Posted March 7, 2006 is there a before and after list for name changers so we could know who they were before who they are now? Thats a reasonable request.Underneath their signature we could have an A.K.A. In Profile Options on the top right of each member's Profile page there is a Display Name History option. ....if only it worked.

Six 23 Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) ... whats that 'warn' thing under my name? I now know we all have one... but what is it there for? What does it mean? What does it all mean? Am I even allowed to ask? [Fixed quotes - ff] Edited March 24, 2006 by football_fan

TLC 9 Posted March 23, 2006 (edited) ... whats that 'warn' thing under my name? I now know we all have one... but what is it there for? What does it mean? What does it all mean? Am I even allowed to ask? We all have one, Moderators can add to it if we've been naughty boys & girls, presumably reulting in a suspension or ban if it hits 100%. I was about to cheekily suggest you should ask about quoting properly too, luckily I checked my own reply first and realised it's not your mistake, I don't think. Six 23 Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks for letting me know. I'm quite new to all this, and felt rather stupid then. I still feel quite stupid now, though not as much!?!?.
TLC 9 Posted March 23, 2006 Thanks for letting me know. I'm quite new to all this, and felt rather stupid then. I still feel quite stupid now, though not as much!?!?. The warn question was the first one I asked when I joined, as I've never bothered with other forums before this one so I had no idea. I thought I'd upset someone straight away, whereas in reality it took me until about my third post to do that... If you have a few spare hours, read the irate visitors thread, and you'll feel positively glowing with intelligence, presuming it can make you glow. It might just be radioactivity in cartoons that does that. I think we may have veered off topic a touch, but it happens... So, why did you choose Six and what would you prefer? The TLC explanation is already further back on this thread if you're interested.
Six 23 Posted March 23, 2006 So, why did you choose Six and what would you prefer? The TLC explanation is already further back on this thread if you're interested. Many, many...many years ago when I was but a wee lass, my mother used to call myself and my many sisters ' The Seven Dwarfs '. When one or another of us was in a moaning mood, she would call us ' Six and Grumpy ' ( Totalling 7, obviously.) So, I simply grabbed ahold of the ' Six ' and that became my nick-name. Interesting as a paint drying isn't it. I don't actually wish to change my name as I would probably forget what I chose. Also, I can pretend that I chose it for the connections with the evil 666! (Much cooler that the dwarfs thing.)
Godot 149 Posted March 23, 2006 Six, a good place to get genned up is the "Death List How To" thread, hence its name. Don't worry about the warnings feature. I regard it as rather fatuous. I have tested it to distraction and you have to be really really naughty to get banned. It's rather like the discipline button on your Tamagotchi. Six 23 Posted March 24, 2006 Six, a good place to get genned up is the "Death List How To" thread... Thank you Godot, I did read that thread, and very entertaining it was too. I learned all about how some members choose to keep warm, and also about alien probes and strange places to keep your computer. Hugely educational.
