The one saving grace of deaths like these is that it introduces you to bands you'd been meaning to listen to for years, but had not yet got around to. The Olivia Tremor Control fall firmly within that category.

They just now released two new singles after like a decade and were teasing a long-delayed third album, their albums are just flawless and this loss is huge for me personally.

I may give that mewithoutYou album a spin too.

Jerry Page of the 90's noise-rock / grunge band Crust (that was known as Mud Honey at some point but changed it's name to distinguish itself from the better known band), has passed away recently as shared by his family and confirmed by Trance Syndicate (his band's former label).

American singer Steve Alaimo (Wiki) reported dead at 84, some days shy of his 85th birthday.

FB tributes herehere and here

He had nine singles chart in the Billboard Hot 100 without once reaching the Top 40 in his career, the most by any artist.

Saw him two years ago with his son in concert. He was still sharp as a tack, but he was frail with a tremor throughout the show. Was supposed to see him in September with Paul Stookey, but the show was cancelled with no rescheduled date, which led me to suspect Yarrow was in failing health. However, he still has a show scheduled near me sometime next year, should he make it. He's a folk icon, and we're losing so many great musicians lately.

New video interview of Ruth Pointer (wiki), last surviving sister of the 4 Pointer Sisters.

79 in March – ironically she was the oldest member of the group.

Talks about the deaths of her sisters in the interview. Looks and sounds great for her age, and more importantly still performing live. A definite pass for any 2025 lists.

They have died in reverse order of age. June was the youngest and died first. Bonnie second youngest and died next. Then second eldest Anita died.
