This morning I heard the story on the news that two people were killed in the Alps by joyriding down a mountain on a protection pillow that is wrapped around trees and obstacles. Guess what they hit....

Can't find a link though.

Don't start investing emotions into any of these folks we post about or you'll be disappointed and miserable.

Neither funny nor ironic, just cruelly unlucky.

And no, we don't need a thread for that.

How about the Dead of 2016 thread? Or, if that offends your obsession with 'everything in its place', here!

Not sure if the moniker thread would've been better, but the former Feyenoord player Hans Posthumus, now indeed is, Hans Posthumus .

Jade Lemons, guitarist with the band "Injected" has died of a drug overdose.

Cue tedious debate about whether this is really ironic or not.

Well, it depends if they injected themselves with Lemsip ? That'd be ironic-ish.

Rok It To The Moon

Authorities in Southern California Tuesday were trying to determine what caused a homemade rocket attached to a skateboard to explode, killing a high school student and injuring his friend. Bernard Moon, 18, of Thousand Oaks, died after the blast on Monday night. A 17-year-old suffered minor injuries and was hospitalized in stable condition as of Tuesday

Jane Little, who spent her 71-year career with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, died on Sunday at 87 at an Atlanta hospital after collapsing onstage during a performance by the orchestra. The concert was a Broadway tribute, and, as if the Fates had arranged it thus, Ms. Little collapsed while playing Theres No Business Like Show Business.

Well worth a read! She was only 4ft 11in and played a double bass that was six feet tall.

"If Ms. Little’s instrument might have obscured another musician of comparable size, her sartorial élan left little danger of that prospect. A manager once dispatched her home to change after she arrived for a concert in a revealing blouse. (Ms. Little was then in her 70s.)"

This almost works.

Ben Hatfield was the CEO of the Sago mine in 2006 in West Virginia where there was a dozen miners killed in an accident .

He was shot dead at a cemetery the other day, suspect arrested with a wad of $$$$.

Now, who was the only survivor of the disaster ? :sherlock:

A Mr McCloy.

An old fued perhaps......

:D a near miss.

An 86 year old imperialist wifie in an oap farm , started choking to death on a hamburger.

It is the same oap farm that the guy who invented the Heimlich manouvere is holed up (aged98).

Downside is he saved her , dissing the irony part.

Plus side, he's alive and straight on a long list :)
