What with other results going our way today, we can really start to catch up on the teams above us seeing as our next three games are away to Bolton, home to Chelsea and away to Man United. Jings! I suppose we could try winning a few more games, but that seems even more unlikely than the above scenario. I say this after our first away win for 15 months, I expected to feel at least a little bit happier after that but I still can't see anything but Championship football next season. And I doubt we'd come straight back up either. well its been said before but the Championship is difficult to get out of (it's not, of course, you could just score 200 own goals and go down... ) but as for bouncing back up-- could be a difficult one... Everton had a few close calls over the years and i know for a fact if Barry Horne hadn't scored that goal against Wimbledon.. we would still be down there, probably in League One or Two.... Relegation son. I predict that you will become the Sheffield Wednesday of the Southern League. Boggins will have a clear out of his very expensive, but talentless players and slip straight back down to the South Mids Premier. It's been emotional. Sheffield Wednesday had the best support in the championship last season and by all accounts have a team that can challenge for promotion to the Premiership. For reasons going back some 10 years, I shall not mourn at their almost certain relegation this year. I doubt many in Sheffield will either, hence Mr Guest's post. Besides MK Dons are on the up, it seems, and could well play Leeds next year. I can't see any reason why you mentioned Carlisle in reply to that post, MPFC, apart from the obvious. Dunstable, by the way, are in with a play-off shout. and try as hard as I might, I can't link this with any death news except an old bloke I know from Dunstable died last week. Mentioned Carlisle to make the point that I'd become a passable supporter of any DL adopted team but would have a real problem feeling anything for them if and when they lined up against the team that's in my blood. And Leeds look like making an appearance for points at Brunton Park next season. I don't see why DL would want to adopt a team in free fall, surely one that kind of matches us because they fight an uphill stuggle well and/or wind people up by virtue of their existence (like MK Dons) is more appropriate. A team fighting extinction off and on, like Dunstable or Crawley would also be appropriate, and affordable if we ever decided on an outing. How much is a seat at Dunstable Town? Arguably, debatable but since the DTFC goalkeeper seems to delight in getting sent off often, it adds some spice. Despite all this, they're in a promotion race. Suppose entertainment for money value is better. In fact, it's even cheaper for league games - £7. (I went for FA Cup).
