Are King Crimson the only band where two separate members have gone on to have Christmas #2 singles then? "I Believe In Father Christmas" and, of course, "How Wonderful You Are" by Gordon Haskell in 2001.

Gordon Haskell

There’s a Led Zeppelin bootleg recording from the Seventies, and the tape machine is near to two people who for some reason are talking about Gordon Haskell, with one of them saying what an asshole he is.

A day on and still no QO for Haskell.

Odd considering he had a #2 charting hit as recent as 2001.

Dunno where else to post this. Been seeing on social media some mention of the death of William Jellet - aka Jesus, aka The Egg Man - a true eccentric and character frequently spotted at prog/hippie gigs

Oh yes, I remember seeing him at Reading Festival years ago.

Well worth a read.

Sonja Kristina's social media is reporting the death of the gloriously named Florian Pilkington-Miksa, former Curved Air drummer.

It's been reported on social media that Gary Lee Yoder, who had a spell as Blue Cheer's guitarist during the 70's, has passed away yesterday.

We spent some time a few years back discussing the health of Robert John Godfrey of The Enid. Wouldn't describe the festival set I saw yesterday as dynamic, but he's still very much with us.

Oh aye, and...Saturday's bill-topper is 79 and two months old - I'd suggest the committee ignore Arthur Brown for a while

@NotTheNagsHeadReading said:

“RIP: Keith Emerson and Greg Lake.
Now Jim Davidson's favourite band
is just "Palmer".
------------------------------------

NOT SO FAST!

”As (Carl) Palmer tells Rolling Stoneplans are underway to reunite the trio, possibly late next year. Using previously unseen footage of the band at London’s Royal Albert Hall in 1992, Palmer is hoping to play with his departed bandmates once again — drumming live alongside those unearthed split-screen clips of Emerson and Lake. “That, to me, would be the way to present an Emerson, Lake, and Palmer show again,” Palmer says. “That’s going to be extremely possible. It will look authentic, it will look real, and it will be in sync. And it’ll be something better than a hologram.”

Also of some interest is a revealing disclosure of what cancer killed Greg Lake in 2016: Pancreatic cancer he had battled nearly three years.

“Palmer only learned of the cause of Lake’s passing from a mutual physician friend. “So I actually learned from a third party,” he says. “It’s a bit sad, isn’t it, to be honest.””
