MLB Pitcher (Wiki) Bob Locker died August 15th at the age of 84.

 

He played for 5 different teams in the big leagues for around a decade, from 1965-1975 + part of the 1972 WS winning team Oakland A's.

Former All-star Lee Thomas, who later became the Phillies general manager and saw them win the 1993 National League championship (losing to the Expos in the World Series), has died aged 86.

His MLB playing career took in New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels, Boston Red Sox, Atlanta Braves, Chicago Cubs, and the Houston Astros (1968) before finishing his career in Japan with the Nankai Hawks (1969).

He appeared in 196 Major League Baseball games in 1955 and from 1957 to 1963 for the New York / San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators and Baltimore Orioles

Littell was traded with Buck Martinez, who is a now a broadcaster and is often mentioned as a potential Dead Pool future pick as he has had cancer

Japanese baseball legend Shigeo Nagashima hospitalised with cerebral hemorrhage. Has a long and complex health history, having suffered a serious stroke in 2004 and been in and out of hospital in recent years.

 

Still "his condition is not serious". Of course.

Anthony Varvaro, who pitched in 166 combined games with three teams from 2010 to 2015, the bulk of which were with the Atlanta Braves, has died. He was 37. Varvaro was killed in a car accident while on his way to New York City to attend the 9/11 memorial.

I didn’t collect them all by any means (I have about 15 from 1972-73) but here are the living baseball players on 7-11 Slurpee cups I do have.  
Jim Lonborg, Reggie Jackson, Brooks Robinson, Reggie Smith, Denny McLain, Al Oliver, Wilbur Wood, and Willie Mays.

There’s a theme team (or better yet, a poll) in there somewhere.

Tom Urbani, pitcher with the Cardinals (1993-96) finishing the 96 season with the Tigers, has died* aged 54. No cause of death disclosed, at family's request.
