Slave to the Grave 26 Posted November 7, 2007 I can, however, state that at least one member of this hallowed forum has a bladder which is considerably weaker than a Dale Winton handshake. You know who you are!! Pots and kettles LFN, pots and kettles
TLC 9 Posted November 7, 2007 On a serious note there is an awful lot of interest in a DL Con2, not least by those that wanted to make No.1 but couldn't, those that couldn't get holidays to coincide, those that were enjoying a bit of weed too much to get the dates right and those that are simply still drunk on the fun they had at DL Con 1. Practically, I feel it has to be held in London, simply for ease of transport. I suggest one of the May holiday weekends next year , 3rd or 24th, I'd love to hear anybody's thoughts on this. Not that for a minute I thought you were referring to me there LG, but if you were, I was actually going to use excuse no. 2 (no.1 is the aforementioned too much weed excuse) which is I'd run out of weed and was in too much of a dark mood for it to occur to me I might have had social events to attend! Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,219 Posted November 7, 2007 I can, however, state that at least one member of this hallowed forum has a bladder which is considerably weaker than a Dale Winton handshake. You know who you are!! Pots and kettles LFN, pots and kettles Pots and Kettles? More like pints and half pints. No wonder we were rushing to the bog every 5 mins. I suggest the next meet actually takes place within the Pub Toilet. It will save our legs, as we are cracking on a bit.
Death Watch Beatle 41 Posted November 7, 2007 Convenient for me to make phone calls also. Most people use a public telephone as a bog, but not me. (Well, not recently anyway). DWB
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted November 7, 2007 May 24th, hmmm, I'll be in London ahead of Carlisle's play off final on the 25th, obviously. What with Leeds and Notts Forest bagging the top two places and that.
The Pooka 26 Posted November 8, 2007 It was particularly nice to sit and watch you all. Like Rotten Ali, I was, for a while, concerned that no-one would turn up. But in the end, my trip was worthwhile. Ah Pook, but didn't you notice that you were being watched? The woman with the Beehive hairdo and dark eyeshadow at the end of the bar: that was Jeremy Beedle. The red patent handbag contained a miniature BBC outside broadcasting unit. I had my binoculars on Beedle from a concealed vantage point across the road and saw everything. How post-modern! harrymcnallysblueandwhitearmy 1,689 Posted May 13, 2008 Seeing as it's such a small ******, I don't have much use for it I'm afraid. I'm sure I won't need to use my ****** between now and Defcon2, so If you could look after it and promise not to damage its' penis between now and then I'd be glad. And I was never aware your ****** had a *****. That's a bit bold to have a ****** with a *****! How on earth do you explain away having such a thing? Then again its not your problem now. Look out NAP its got a *****. If its got one of those then it may have a ******* *****!!!!. So you darned well better be ******* ********! Glad I never ******* touched it! It's true. If you look closely, the****** definitely has a small but distinct *****. And to think I've had it in my pocket all this time! Well I've now put it safely away behind my ******. But it isn't the only ****** in the UK, it has a sister copy alive and well and untouched with it's ***** intact, it sit's on top of the monitor my Mum uses for her computer, devious things these ******** , they can infiltrate your life, will take a picture when I am back down in a fortnight. perhaps I can sell you my Mum's copy ATJ? No, sorry, I can't make the 24th and I definitely can't do the 3rd until the TARDIS is fixed. But if someone sorts DC2 for later in the summer I'd consider tagging along - I only attend functions I've not organised myself, you know.
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted May 13, 2008 Then again that May weekend coincides with the play off final at Wembley, might well be there on the Sunday, assuming we hold onto the lead over Leeds!
hellkat 3 Posted May 13, 2008 *looks annoyed* Sod it ... Just as I am about to leave the country for 2 months, I discover you might be planning a piss up. Ah well, the perils of being a Jenny-come-lately. I'm rubbish at turning up to planned events, or at least, I'm rubbish at committing to them. I occasionally turn up if I know the venue, and then people are so surprised I turned up, they forget who I am by the time I turn up at the next one
Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,219 Posted May 18, 2008 I reckon this October/November, if Im allowed out. Same place as last one ( seemed a good place, if not where? )the timing allows plenty of notice to arrange travel,I came down from Norfolk, RA from Nottingham, NAP from Germany, STTG and DTTG from France, if we can, so can you!! I shall even do the arranging too. Anyway, all in good time, when I can get more than a fleeting 5 mins on here ( Lady FN and Daughter permitting )

maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted May 21, 2008 Could be a tough call if it's a Saturday. The last one clashed with Carlisle at home to Leeds. The next one could as well.

Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,219 Posted May 21, 2008 Could be a tough call if it's a Saturday. The last one clashed with Carlisle at home to Leeds. The next one could as well. Yes Mary, last time there were some who were unable to make it due to pre arranged appointments to de flea their cats and pull their fingernails out with pliers ( a bit like watching Carlisle, infact). No doubt, this time round, there will be people who will be unable to make it due to the above activities falling on the same day, whatever that day is. Such is life. Lard Bazaar 3,799 Posted May 22, 2008 I might try and come this time, if it's a weekend where the kids are with knobhead. My friends keep saying I should get out and try new things and meet new people, and I'm sure a convention of people who discuss celebrity death is exactly the type of thing they mean. I have oftened mentioned the DL at work, mostly I get sympathetic looks, but one or two of the ladies have now said that whenever they hear of a death on the news or in the paper, they think of me straight away, and wonder if I've scored any points. I'm spreading the celebrity-death love!
Godot 149 Posted May 22, 2008 I'm at a conference of actuaries this week so it's just like a deathlist convention. They're all miserable because people are living longer.
Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,219 Posted May 22, 2008 Ladies and Gents. If there is anybody out there who is interested in coming down to Londinium one Saturday in October for the DL2 Pub Fest please could you PM me to let me know. I need to have some idea of how many want to come along. It is basically going to be a repeat of last years jolly, which was rather successful. It will be held at the same venue as before in Central London, easy to find, good for Tube and all main Rail station links etc, etc. Im quite aware and respect those who wish to keep their anonymity and mystery, however, have a think about it, eh? If you can tell me what Saturday you CANNOT make as opposed to what you can, we shall take it from there. Regards LFN
maryportfuncity 10,647 Posted May 23, 2008 LFN - I do venture far from Maryport on occasion and such ventures are easier when I have plenty advance notice. I mean, I can arrange to shag an endagered species, or milk it. It struck me last time the venue is handy for Regents Park Zoo. So I'll certainly give gannin a go. Dave to the Grave 11 Posted May 23, 2008 I'll be in London at the end of October beginning of November, so if it's around this time I'll make a real effort to attend. I love beer me. I'm booking my DL thong in for a specialist clean just in case.
