Sod's Law 492 Posted January 1, 2024 I often wonder what he'd be like by now if he'd managed to retain his seat at the 2019 election. I think he would have struggled during Covid with the 'zoom parliament' (he was pretty tech averse and never had any form of social media) but he had that kind of work ethic that meant he probably never would have let anything short of death stand between him and a by-election. Would he have been begged to stand down by now (he's in his nineties after all) or is his current decline linked to him no longer having the job which was his life for such a long time?
msc 18,667 Posted January 1, 2024 To be blunt, I think him being forceably retired is the reason he's still alive. If he'd won that election he'd have died within eighteen months imo.

Brad252 857 Posted Wednesday at 00:24 Skinner's made quite the ascent over the last 3 lists: 41st in 2023, 12th in 2024 and now 4th this year. Intel on his reported dementia must be quite compelling.

Considering Dick van Dyke is number 1 I'm not sure their placing on the list matters...other than the top 20 for the DDP sake.
