Guest Michael's Foot Posted September 7, 2005 As a lowly appendage of Mr.Foot's, my opinion is somewhat blinkered. I can inform you that michael is still mobile, after all I should know. I just wish he'd change his socks more often, the things I have to put up with.

Guest False Prophet Posted September 22, 2005 I was shocked to discover recently that, many years ago, Michael Foot's late wife was attacked and raped by the exiled Hungarian writer Arthur Koestler. It made me wonder about how personal tragedy might affect an individual's character and subsequently, their life span. Michael Foot seems to be bearing up well however. Guest iain Posted January 9, 2006 If Michael makes it to his 93rd birthday in july he will become the lomngest living leader of all 3 major political parties (labour tory and liberal). The record to date is Jim Callaghan who died the day before his 93rd birthday.I dont suppose old Foot will last much beyond that though ,if he makes it... Godot 149 Posted April 2, 2006 I was covering Foot on the election trail, it must have been around 20 years ago, and the only reason I was sent along then was in case he collapsed or fell off the stage. He has been a great survivor. Only last year a Tribune colleague said he was in "rude health". Foot could be another Bill Deedes who just goes on and on. I think he might outlive Denis Healey who is four years his junior. But Foot, Healey and Benn must be firmly in the frame now. I used to see Foot quite a lot in the Gay Hussar but haven't seen him there for a long time (possibly because it's a long time since I've been there). maryportfuncity 10,646 Posted April 21, 2006 What, like DL posters don't already watch the news with a sense of hope every time the newsreaders pull that grave face they save for the tragedies? Incidentally, watch the news this weekend for details of promotions from and - possibly - the new champions of Coca Cola League Two.
Octopus of Odstock 2,194 Posted April 21, 2006 Incidentally, watch the news this weekend for details of promotions from and - possibly - the new champions of Coca Cola League Two. What, Grimsby Town? I like them. They smell of fish but they're likeable all the same.
