millwall32 114 Posted January 29, 2006 Dicky is beating Pete Doherty in the page views, he's almost 10,000 ahead I feel this thread no longer has value. Now it's just a race between Richard and the Pete Doherty thread. I have to say I also disagree with you there BS.

Guest pulphack Posted January 29, 2006 Interesting use of the double bluff irony approach from the pooka, there. If I was serious about there being nothing better to do with our time that write and read this rubbish, then would I be posting... UNLESS he's just trapped me into taking him too seriously... hmm. Just for the slow on the uptake, my first paragraph was FUNNY... like Dickie. People like dickie were great in their time, by dint of their popularity. You can argue subjective quality forever, but they kept a lot of people entertained back then, and that can't be taken away from them. And, of course, he did do Tessa Wyatt a favour by whisking her away from Blackburn (and the abominable Arnold, no doubt). But when you're 8, you don't really care about fact and fiction (was that Mary Bell's defence?) and so the idea of sharing with Wilcox and Thompsett was infinitely appealing. Incidentally, old chap, do you REALLY look like Jason King? I wanted to be him when I was a young boy. Peter Wyngarde's quite healthy these days, isn't he? Oh, and by the way, as a confirmed Leyton Orient fan, I think Carlisle improved the moment Knighton finally sold up, and would never have dropped if Paul Simpson had had all of that season in charge... Just to stay topical, I hear John Gorman was a guest on Robin's Nest just after his transfer to Spurs.

As you say 'he did do Tessa Wyatt a favour' but, more importantly he 'did do Tessa Wyatt' ...full stop. Jason King - well spotted....... I do not, alas, resemble the great Peter Wyngarde; another 70s icon worthy of revival. I believe that he is in Australia these days. He was convicted of something unsavoury in a bus-station convenience in Leicester and that put the anchors on his career. However, by that time I think that transportation to the colonies was no longer de rigeur and his emigration was entirely voluntary. Not one for the DL yet though. There is a current picture somewhere on the web but, as with Tessa's current mugshot, I can no longer find it.

maryportfuncity 10,616 Posted January 29, 2006 No, richard o'sullivan Queenie, are you telling me your mum fancied John Gorman and Richard O' Sullivan and wanted a sheet shredding full-on threesome with them both whilst John Gorman's Carlisle team mates stood around dogging and making suggestions on the next move? Bloody hell, no wonder they got caught in possession around that time. they must have been struggling to keep their minds on the game.

Guest pulphack Posted January 30, 2006 john gorman and dickie at the same time? is that what sports people mean by 'double header'? certainly, this extra-curricular activity would explain why they plummeted from first to fourth in as many years. was that comedy script the same one that also had robin nedwell's sig on it? how do we know that it wasn't some secret nedwell admirer, lost in the the throes of necro-graph hunting? things i must do today: 1. sign on here properly and become a member. 2. go because there are bloody students on the room and i have to start work
maryportfuncity 10,616 Posted January 30, 2006 certainly, this extra-curricular activity would explain why they plummeted from first to fourth in as many years. That plummet was in the eighties, the one high spot being a pitch invasion at Blackburn as we tried pathetically to get a game abandoned. Gorman was, by that time pals with Glenn Hoddle and started on the management career he follows today. He was there - however - when we fell out of the first division in 1975. He moved to Spurs a season and a bit later. DICKIE O IS CRAP AND I'M ON TOPIC

Now it's just a race between Richard and the Pete Doherty thread. Ah... vague John Gorman references...Pooka's relentless search for a current pic of Tessa Wyatt (clothed or otherwise)... mother's being outed for fancying blokes with wonky teeth...shock revelations that people are paying up to fifty quid for yellowing bits of paper with Dicky O' scrawl on them... Carlisle United getting the most webspace in their entire history...& new DL members to boot (but not too hard!)... Now, what was that about being of no value? POWER TO OUR DICK!
