Pretty embarrassing for him at this point, the flatulences are the cherry on top. Wonder if he'll make it to 2025, alive and in power.

Should have dropped his trousers around his ankles and had a crap on the seat to give us all a laugh.

Not really a despot but Festus Mogae, President of Botswana 1998-2008, hospitalized with undisclosed ailments. Recovering.

Abdessalam Jalloud, Libya's Prime Minister 1972-1977, one of the last living of the group of officers who overthrew the monarchy and once Gaddafi's right-hand man, involved in some dissident killings, disappearances et cetera, apparently lives in some European country now(probably Italy?) here's an image that's allegedly from this or last month.

96-year-old Senegal ex-despot Abdoulaye Wade jetted back to Dakar after 20 days in France (possibly for medical treatment?) according to social media posts. Some claim he'll "permanently stay in Senegal now".

Wade, a despot ? He ran for President 4 times before he was elected, at 74, having waited 25 years.
And when he lost to ran for a third term, he retired.

I’m not saying he’s an angel but a despot…

Kenyan ex-VP Moody Awori was rumored dead/on his deathbed a few weeks ago, but has now made a public appearance and looks great:

Mentioned here a few times before, now 94.

Arguably he looks far better than some people 20 years younger (at least from this limited video).

Sam Nujoma is in good health.

Anyway I don't understand why you need to write an article about it. Maybe not that good?

Tunisia's current president Kais Saied (b. 1958) who has recently suspended the parliament, kicked the prime minister and given himself more power looks like he's already dead. No wonder he's often called "robot" for not only looking like a corpse but also his drowsiness and how he always looks somewhat emotionless.

Tunisia president/despot Kais Saied missing events since March 22 and there's growing speculation on his health.

Abel Alier (1933-) First President of the High Executive Council of South Sudan (Head of State) 1972-1978 and 1980-1981. Seems to still be active in politics.

lagu.png.ae4e1ef12b2175e7b6faad1ae326e8b1.png

Joseph Lagu (1931-) I've mentioned him before here as he was the leader of Anyanya in the 70s. Wife died in London from covid a while ago, Lagu survived. President of the High Executive Council for a year, 1978-1979.

Abel Alier Kwai met current South Sudan president/dictator Salva Kiir Mayardit (you might remember SKM from when he pissed himself in December and the journalist who filmed it mysteriously died a while later) late last year and could stand without aid while Mayardit used a cane. He'll be 90 in two months. Joseph Lagu met Mayardit in January and looked fine for his age, that is either 92 or 94 this year (some sources say he was born 26 Nov 1929, some 21 Nov 1931). He's also made appearances since.

Impressive they're both still alive as it seems their political careers peaked in the 1970s and South Sudan's had more than 45 years of wars, civil wars and other conflicts since 1955.

Also recognizable by the Texan hat he always wear. George W Bush gave it to him.

I’ve noticed that those past twenty years, a lot of African head of states died nonagerians or have currently reach 90 :

Tunisian Habib Bourguiba died at 96, Senegalese Léopold Sédar Senghor 95, Algerian Amhed Ben Bella 95, Zimbabwean Robert Mugabe 95, Kenyan Daniel Arap Moi 95, Egyptian Hosni Mubarak 91 and Tunisian Beji Caid Essebsi died in office aged 92. Cameroonian Paul Biya is 90

They have outlived a lot of Western head of states, which, given their countries life expectancy, should be the opposite.

Living Prime Ministers from before the Arab Spring:

Rachid Sfar (1933-) 4th Prime Minister 1986-1987. Habib Bourguiba's (1903-2000) last living Prime Minister, 87-year old Bourguiba sacked him in October 1987 and replaced him with Abidine Ben Ali, who became the dictator after deposing Bourguiba a month later.

Mohamed Ghannouchi (1941-) 8th Prime Minister 1999-2011. Technocrat often called "Mr. Oui Oui" by Tunisians for always obeying Ben Ali and also Ben Ali's last and last living Prime Minister. Current whereabouts unknown after the Arab Spring.

Rachid Sfar of Tunisia reportedly dead: https://kapitalis-com.translate.goog/tunisie/2023/07/21/tunisie-deces-de-rachid-sfar-ancien-premier-ministre-sous-bourguiba/?_x_tr_sl=fr&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc

Article about gerontocracy in Cameroon. President Paul Biya is 88, President of the Senate Marcel Niat Njifenji is 87, Speaker of the National Assembly Cavaye Yegue Djibril is 81 and most notably Senator Victor Mukete is almost 103. He was last seen in Senate mid-March and looks 25 years younger (photo in the article above).

Article on Marcel Niat Njifenji from April. It's behind a paywall but says he's been very ill for some time now and regularly hospitalised (He's known to have spent months in France for treatment in 2018 and 2020). Yet he was re-elected as President of the Senate early this year.

Henri Konan Bédié, 2nd President of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) 1993-1999 is 87 today. Will probably go on for multiple years as he seems healthy (and even has a twitter account: https://twitter.com/hkbofficiel) Also ran for President last year.

Seems to have been a shitty ruler. In December 1999 he was ousted by Robert Guéï (1941-2002, later killed along with his wife, children and former interior minister during the first hours of the First Ivorian Civil War by forces lead by 4th President Laurent Gbagbo (b. 1945) and war criminal Charles Blé Goudé (b. 1972) who were both freed by ICC last month: we'll see what happens to them next)

Henri Konan Bédié, former President of the Ivory Coast (1993-1999), reportedly dead.
