However, I have heard of him vaguely. Wrong thread again, anyway, Iain. Sad to hear about McGavin though. Always good entertainment

It is already mentioned right here.
Guest Guest Posted February 26, 2006 Didn't Jim Nabors have a liver transplant like 10 years ago or something? Seems like I remember something about that. When is he gonna kick the bucket? Also, Don Knotts, Andy, they are really getting old, so here is a vote for one of them in 2005. Thelma Lou is old and fat and that is that! Who will be the next Mayberryite to pass on? Knotts drops dead He's down, folks.
Guest iain Posted February 26, 2006 surely it can be posted here and on the near misses thread? After all some people might not look here..actually i wanted to create a whole new thread titled Knotts Landing in a grave
Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted February 26, 2006 I think a thread with the subtitle Don Knotts has died is quite enough notice for most people. Besides, most of us have Wiki Recent Deaths or Google News Search or something else to alert us, so it's not like you were bringing us a scoop.

Also, apparentely Andy Griffith himself was healthy enough to be visiting Mr. Knotts in the hosptial on a regular basis, so it seems unlikely that he'll be dropping soon. DevonDeathTrip 2,358 Posted August 3, 2010 Not a good week for preformers called Mitch.... Mich Jayne, 80, bassist with wonderful folky/country/bluegrass band 'The Dillards', has died just two weeks after he was diagnosed with cancer. Rather a tenuous link, but 'The Dillards' played a band called 'The Darlings' on the Andy Griffith show
angryGreatness 96 Posted July 3, 2012 Figured this thread would be more appropriate. Andy Griffith has died aged 86.
BrunoBrimley 86 Posted July 3, 2012 Figured this thread would be more appropriate. Andy Griffith has died aged 86. I just heard the news while watching the Andy Griffith show which appears daily. Later I will watch Matlock but it will be a sad moment. Maybe it will be one of the more uplifting episodes where he buys a hot dog outside the courthouse. Hopefully and episode with Linda Purl. Phantom 2,533 Posted July 3, 2012 Sad news . I met him briefly once. He didn't speak to me as they were in the middle of a shoot for Matlock. Although Kene Holliday spoke to me. I think his words were "ow that's my foot you just trod on"
