I see there was a crowdfunding page here: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/nicolas-chagrin

Don't think even Hadoke picked that one up...

Ah, the Colin Baker era....

According to her niece, Dorka Nieradzik has died. https://twitter.com/MissAuroraAdams/status/963155021138448384

She won a BAFTA for hair/make-up on the TV version of Cold Comfort Farm, but will be fondly remembered by Doctor Who fans for her make-up and hair design on such stories as The Leisure Hive, Logopolis, The Trial Of A Time Lord and Silver Nemesis, amongst others.

Peter Miles has died aged 89, according to his official twitter account.

Here he is in happier times, as leader of a group of Nazis who ordered the creation of the Daleks in Doctor Who!

Also seen in Z-Cars, Sweeney, Bergerac, the whole 70s/80s TV lot...

I am just watching Dr Who and the Silurians now and I thought in the scenes he was in he was the only one left alive.  No longer!

always a good actor and played some great parts in Dr Who as well as Survivors and numerous other roles.

As a fan of the Pertwee/Tom Baker era of Doctor Who I'm very sad to hear of Peter Mile's death. I was listening to the commentary he gave on the Genesis of the Daleks DVD just a few weeks ago and he sounded genuinely enthusiastic about being on the show.He was one of the best villians in the show's history. I will probably watch one of the 3 stories he did for Dr Who in the next few days in tribute to him .Maybe all 3 in fact !

Peter Miles was in the very first production I saw at the RSC in Stratford. A school trip in 1985 to see Henry V with Kenneth Branagh, Brian Blessed and Patricia Routledge.

David Fisher obviously not Deathlisty Guardiany enough.

He is Guardiany enough, but the problem with newspapers relying on one person to write all the obits in a particular field, as we've seen before, is that if that particular person is frightfully busy or otherwise not available, then the dead person remains in obit limbo... usually forever.

On Twitter Toby Hadoke when he did an obit for Peter Wyngarde was asked about David Fisher and his reply was I can only do what I am asked to do.

Hey, I missed out on Michel Delpech's obit because the Indie writer who was scheduled to do it died himself. It's a hard world out there.

Cyril Frankel was quoted in Peter Wyngarde's obituary but was never given the honour of getting an obituary himself.

Proper newspaper obit, albeit the (Scottish) Herald, from Toby Hadoke.

If this is the level of editorial scrutiny in the i newspaper then I am not surprised David Fisher never got an obituary.

Considering that Jane Baker and David Fisher did not get Mainstream media qualifying obituaries I have compiled a list of all the remaining classic series Doctor Who writers and have assessed their obituary chances. However if it is a quiet week Last Word might need a filler.

Donald Tosh (b.1935) – Hopeful: Last surviving first Doctor writer

Henry Lincoln (b.1930)   Probable because of his links to Dan Brown Da Vinci Code court case

Terrence Dicks (b.1935) If Terrence Dicks does not get a BBC obit within 24 hours of his death being announced on Twitter Tony Hall is going to end up at the rough end of an awful shit storm from DW fans and will end up looking like QEII on 5th September 1996.

Trevor Ray (?)                    Doubtful. Wrote Children of the Stones but little available info on wiki or IMDB

Bob Baker (b.1939)          Likely because of his connection to Aardman

Chris Boucher (b.1943)   Probable wrote for a number of high profiles shows alongside Doctor Who

Andrew McCulloch (b.1945)         Unlikely

John Flanagan (b.1947)                  Unlikely

Andrew Smith (?)                             Unlikely

Stephen Gallagher (b.1954)         Almost certain for his other published works

Christopher H. Bidmead (b.1941)               Possible

Christopher Bailey                           Almost zero

Eric Saward (b.1944)                       Likely

Barbara Clegg                                    Very unlikely

Paula Moore                                      Very very unlikely

Philip Martin (b.1938)                    Possible because of Gangsters

Pip Baker                                             Very unlikely (cf Jane)

Glen McCoy (b.1954)                      Unlikely

Stephen Wyatt (b.1948)                Unlikely

Malcolm Kohll (b.1953)                  Likely – produced a number of high profile films probably won’t mention Doctor Who though.

Ian Briggs (b.1958)                           Unlikely

Ben Aaronovitch (b.1964)             Certain because of Rivers of London

Graeme Curry                                    Very unlikely

Kevin Clarke                                       Very unlikely

Marc Platt (b.1953)                          Unlikely

Rona Munro (b.1959)                     Probably because of her James plays and the fact she has also written for nuWho.
