His South Bank interview with Max Wall meeting Samuel Beckett led him to co-found the Max Wall Society. (Does anyone remember Max Wall these days?).

Jazz songwriter Dave Frishberg dead at 88. Wrote "I'm Just a Bill" for Schoolhouse Rock! and "Van Lingle Mungo", with lyrics consisting entirely of the names of 1940s baseball players (one of the namechecked, Eddie Basinski, outlives Frishberg).
