On November 10, 2010, he crashed his Porsche Cayenne SUV into a tree after trying to outrun a traffic police car in a high-speed chase. He suffered fractured spine and spinal cord injuries. Two passengers in his car (two women, aged 19 and 20) had less serious injuries, breaking bones. Two of his Dynamo-Bryansk teammates who were also in the car, Maksim Fyodorov and Marat Magkeyev, suffered very minor injuries. As of July 2017, his legs were paralyzed and his hands had minimal movement with no expectation of recovery. Criminal charges related to the accident were dropped in agreement with other people who were injured as passengers in his car. justonecornetto 951 Posted August 13, 2023 Joe Caven who played centre forward for a few Scottish teams has died aged 86. I saw him in his most successful period when he played alongside Allan McGraw in Greenock Morton's record breaking 1963/64 season and although he latterly lived in the North of Scotland he still had a close affinity with Morton and attended as many games as he could.
