Gilbert van Binst, Belgian footballer who played for RSC Anderlecht (1968-1980), Toulouse (1980-1981) and Brugge (1981-1983), has died aged 73. He gained 15 caps of Belgium, including at the 1972 European Championships where Belgium finished 3rd. He scored 2 goals in the 1978 European Cup, helping Anderlecht to win.

Greenock Morton goalkeeper Alex Brown has died aged 87 Obit

 

Personally sad about this as I started watching Morton in 1963 in what turned out to be a record breaking season with Alex Brown playing his part.

Very sad news. Played in the 1981 Cup Final for Tottenham but I remember him best at Norwich and Reading.

First FA Cup final I remember was in 1981 - he came on as a sub in the replay IIRC. RIP.
