So....... did he top himself or what? "No suspicious circumstances" seems to have worked itself into the modern journalistic language as a euphemism for that. Because apparently they think people can't handle the word suicide or something.....

Not particularly bothered whether he actually did, TBH. I just like complaining about journalists, that's all.

To be fair to journalists, those words are supplied to them by the police. So it's just a copy & paste exercise from a police statement rather than them thinking we can't cope.

And more importantly the journalists probably fear a lawsuit if they claim suicide when they've only been presented with "no suspicious circumstances" by the police as they aren't mutually exclusive. Imagine the journo's job prospect if they report "Ian Redford committed suicide" when the truth later turns out to be "Ian Redford collapsed of dehydration."

Ex Leeds skipper Bobby Collins....

From Leeds site

We are saddened to announce the passing of our former skipper Bobby Collins.

Bobby, 82, sadly passed away at approximately 3.30pm on Monday afternoon following a battle with illness.

The Glasgow-born Bobby, who made 167 appearances during a five-year stint at Elland Roadbetween 1962 and 1967, scoring 26 goals, was named Footballer Of The Year in 1965 and was instrumental in the rise of the club during Don Revie's tenure.

Bobby, a Scotland international midfielder, was signed by Revie from Everton for £25,000 and after leading the team back to top-flight football in 1964, he almost captained the side to a league and cup double the following season.

The midfielder's playing career spanned over two decades and also included spells with Celtic, Bury, Greenock Morton, Oldham Athletic, and Shamrock Rovers. He also had a spell playing and coaching in Australia.

Bobby also managed Huddersfield Town, Hull City, and Barnsley, and had two spells coaching with Leeds.

Speaking on Monday evening, Bobby's friend and former team-mate, Eddie Gray said: "In my opinion Bobby Collins was probably the most influential player in the history of Leeds United. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and played with him."

Our thoughts are with Bobby's family and friends at this time.

Dr Zorders, when they say no suspicious circumstances they mean it was probably a heart attack or a sudden illness of some sort.

Luis Aragones, former coatch of Spain successful team in 2008 is dead.

Oh no! I always admired the fact that he had the guts to omit a national icon (Raul) despite massive criticism. The result? Spain finally won the Euro 2008. RIP.

Just realised the irony of Aragones dying on the first day of Black History Month.
