I hope they get bought-out and turned round by people who know what they're doing. Wilkos takes a step nearer
Imelda 610 Posted August 4, 2023 Clintons (not exactly strangers to struggle over the last few years) are looking closer than ever to doing a Wilko https://www.theguardian.com/business/2023/aug/04/card-retailer-clintons-looking-to-close-a-fifth-of-stores-to-avoid-going-bust Perhaps if actually stocked some half decent cards at sensible prices, they wouldn't be in this mess. No wonder Card Factory wipe the floor with them.

Toast 16,026 Posted September 11, 2023 Really sad about this. Wilko was somewhere you could rely on getting decent quality goods at a reasonable price, and there was some consistency, unlike the likes of B&M, Home Bargains or Poundland where you never really know what you're going to find on the shelves. At least with Wilko if you bought something and liked it you could buy it again. I liked it not being out in some godforsaken "retail park" as well. And they used to play really good music* in there, although that stopped in recent years. *That means music that was to my taste.

Evil Grimace 357 Posted November 7, 2023 WeWork files for bankruptcy in the US, which affects the company's business in the US and Canada. WeWork forced to file for bankruptcy in the US Ousted founder Adam Neumann's comments on the situation are amusing at best, as I'm sure it is "disappointing" and "challenging for me to watch" on top of the pile of money he was sent off with back in 2019.
