Toronto-area furniture company Bad Boy is officially bankrupt. Owned by the Lastman family, which included late patriarch and former Toronto mayor Mel Lastman, Bad Boy has been liquidating its assets.  It has now filed a notice of intention under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act, citing the goal to restructure.

Trouble at John Lewis? The company is considering cutting 11,000 jobs as it slashes redundancy pay:

I know the last few years have been difficult for them, but I always found them the perfect place to go to look for birthday presents for people I had no idea what to buy for, so I hope they don't go anytime soon.

The job cuts will take five years to be implemented in full so they just must expect to make it till then.

That’s a shame. I know these type of places are struggling but I’d have expected Lush to go out of business before them. The women who shop there end up smelling like potpourri prostitutes.

My missus used to go into Body Shop years ago when Roddick was in charge. Fell apart after, shoddy customer service and stopped innovating. Feels like a long time coming.

Body Shop is pretty much the same old, same old with nothing new, while there seems to be something new at Lush every season, which I personally appreciate

I used to buy bath stuff from Lush regularly, but there were only two scents I really really liked and the bastards discontinued them.  And their prices got ridiculous.

Since Anita Roddick died, it hasn't been the same business. Neither of her children had much interest in continuing the business.

The professional instrument and equipment company, founded in 1924 and still operated by the Ash family four generations later, has posted signs announcing the location’s closure
