the_engineer 1,415 Posted June 11, 2015 Just got this off the rolling news service look at these roles , Count Dracula Dracula (1958) The Creature The Curse of Frankenstein (1957) Henry Baskerville The Hound of the Baskervilles (1959) Lord Summerisle The Wicker Man (1973) Francisco Scaramanga The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) Dr Catheter Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990) Mohammed Ali Jinnah Jinnah (1998) Saruman the White The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (2001-3) Count Dooku Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005) Truly one of if not the best actor Britain ever produced (maybe even the world) no one will ever have a career like his with these types of iconic and memorable roles . R.I.P Sir Christopher Lee

YoungWillz 21,033 Posted June 11, 2015 Think I first saw him in James Bond. I remember thinking at the time - "He's too good for this pile of nonsense." In actual fact he was probably too good for most of the movies he was in, but working right up until the end. With Ron Moody passing as well, the UK has lost two awesome talents. Fangs for the memories.

Sir Creep 7,070 Posted June 11, 2015 Guest got me by two minutes well done. Man, I found nothing on Lee a couple weeks ago same day I researched Nash. RIP I also researched Nancy Reagan and Bob Dole and found nothing so those two should be next. SirC

Bibliogryphon 9,571 Posted June 11, 2015 Not a good year for the SF/Fantasy genre with Nimoy, Pratchett and Lee all gone. He was always worth watching even when he was better than the material required one thing I liked him in was the BBC adaptation of Ivanhoe where he played the leader of the Knights Templer. Very very sad but he was a true icon of cinema.
Phantom 2,533 Posted June 11, 2015 This has put a real damper on my day. Sad news indeed. Did the Telegraph need to put a copy of the death certificate on the obit site?
msc 18,438 Posted June 11, 2015 This has put a real damper on my day. Sad news indeed. Did the Telegraph need to put a copy of the death certificate on the obit site? That, and the fact the BBC don't have it yet (and even Sky delayed announcing it) is a bit suspicious. I don't mean its a hoax, its not, but in the breaking of the news. EDIT - BBC reported it as I was typing, the old sod's law of the Deathlist forum!

Phantom 2,533 Posted June 11, 2015 Loved the title of his autobiography Tall, Dark & Gruesome Shows a lovely sense of self-depricating humour. Looking on ebay just a few minutes ago, there are signed copies up for sale prices range between $40-$400 Sad that when a celebrity dies suddenly these things go up for sale. If I had a signed copy of the book, I'd certainly would not want to sell it.

time 8,596 Posted June 11, 2015 Loved the title of his autobiography Tall, Dark & Gruesome Shows a lovely sense of self-depricating humour. I read that when it first came out, I'll have to give it another go. This is/was his last film. Maybe that's why they left it until today to release the news.
