Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted May 27, 2014 So, I'd bet most people don't know football... Such a pitty Actually I watched it with friends, and one of them said moments after it happened "A brilliant career, all those goals, everything he's achieved, and now this is all he'll be remembered for." Or words to that effect. People still remember Cantona for being a brilliant player despite his kung-fu antics. So maybe Zidane wasn't all that brilliant anyway. They also remember him (Cantona) for talking absolute bollocks (fish, trawler, seagulls etc). and TV commercials.

Phantom 2,533 Posted May 28, 2014 Did you all know that Jaoaoa Hevalange is Brazilian? No, but I knew that João Havelange is Brazilian. Is Jaoaoa Hevalange a close relative of his or just a friend?

Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted June 20, 2014 I guess after today's events, the best "success" English DLers can now hope for is for Jaaaooaooooaaao to snuff it during this tourney. Or shortly after, w/e.

Bibliogryphon 9,582 Posted November 4, 2014 The review for the film in which Tim Roth plays Sepp Blatter and Sam Neill plays Havelange has not been a critical success. Maybe we should offer to promote the DVD thrugh our website as I am sure JH will feature in Next Year's list. Obviously we would need to be suitably reimbursed for such actions but I think that the executive of the DL committee would not resort to taking cash bribes or all expenses paid trips to Russia 2018. Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted December 14, 2014 Fun fact: Joao Havelange sounds like an Italian or French man saying "You have lunch?" in Broken English.
