Cant't seem to find if it's already placed somewere.

David Prowse, actor who played Darth Vader in the original Star Wars-trilogy is suffering from prostate cancer.

Already got his own thread, but since he's apparently on the mend it'll doubtless sink rapidly.

I've only just seen this Eunice Kennedy, I didn't even know who she was untill yesterday.

She's awfull! How isn't she dead yet?

Is Ted really more likely to go this year than her? He looks a bit healthier which doesn't really say much but still..

The conductor Sir Roger Norrington has just celebrated his 75th birthday, there will be a concert held in his honour next Monday. In a recent interview with The Times he spoke of his ongoing cancer battle.

Norrington is used to being a man on a mission. For one thing, there is the rather astonishing fact that he's been battling skin cancer and a brain tumour for more than 15 years. Only the work of a controversial New York specialist, he says, has enabled him to reach his 75th birthday (the great man will be there on Monday to admire his patient in action). “The great thing about the programme I'm on is that I'm attacking the cancer all the time. Six times a day I take eight pills of enzymes, so I've got it constantly on the back foot.”

The pills won't work forever, he's worth knowing about. :)

Indeed.... hence the reason why they call her The Grand Dame of Dish.

Good columnist... she announced just last week she would stop writing her column for the NY Post...

after all she's no spring chicken herself... turned 85 last month... although still working, so maybe a reasonable DDP candidate in a few years time?

He might not see Easter, but he could hear it.

The senses can go one at a time with motor neurone disease. That'd be fitting for a bloke inclined to hang his victims down a dark drain, leaving them to contemplate the end in helpless isolation, long before said end arrived.

Dunno where else to put this since we don't have a 2009 possibles thread but.....

Pen Haddow and his arctic explorer mates are long overdue a visit from the supply plane.

Not facing death........yet, but maybe if a polar bear ambled by and they hadn't the strength to fight it off....

LOL :D No, the Liz Smith is 87.... and quite frail (although she's always been)... but she still manages to appear in the Paul O'Grady panto every year for some reason...

I see that TheManInBlack has got surf rock guitarist Dick Dale as a unique pick on his DDP team. He's given an interview in which he discusses his long battle with colon cancer.

"It's been about four weeks now since they put me back together. That surgery was 8 hours long. The surgeons came out looking like they were hit by a truck. And I'm back, as strong as ever.People call me the king of the surf guitar. You know what the doctors call me? The Cancer Warrior."

He'll be dead in weeks then...

This one might be a bit offbeat but I think it's worth a shout. According to an interview with Eddie Butler of the 1948 Irish Grand Slam side, or those surviving, Jack Kyle, the outhalf, and considered generally to be the greatest Rugby player to ever don the Irish jersey, is suffering from bone marrow cancer. Given that he is 83 years old, there is surely not long left in the tank.

Welcome! You are quite right he is worthy and has his own thread. When you have a little more time to explore you'll find a search function in the top right (second one in just below the black banner), which you can use to look up your favourite pelebrities.

Hope you like what you see and if you could so kindly find your way to locating the caps lock button, then your contributions will be more highly accommodated. Thanks.
