I found an obituary for an  Robert Bruce Dickson who died on 1st December at 92, and who has the exact same name and birthday than Bruce Dickson, an Canadian ice hockey player from the 1952 Games.

 

Granted, he died in Colorado, not Canada, and there is no mention of his Olympic background.

 

What do you think ?

Norman Shutt died under the radar in died on February 12, 2022, aged 92, he competed in the Squaw Valley Olympics in 1960 and was the oldest living Olympic biathlete, his successor is Larry Damon, born on December 8, 1933, who represented the United States in that sport in 1960, and in cross-country skiing in 1956, 1964 and 1968

What are you on about?  I found the added info interesting and quite frankly YES, if you’re going to post an obit and leave out extremely pertinent info such as he was Sweden’s oldest Olympian, then take a lesson on sting obits.  Feel free to pick on me ya cunt, and leave wee useless diego be.  I’m guessing the four ‘likes’ you got were also from incapable obit posters, but I’ll never know.

Former coach of the national biathlon teams of Belarus and Bulgaria Nikolai Zakharov passed away on January 29. He was 77 years old.

 

Nikolai Zakharov worked with the teams of Bulgaria and Belarus.

It was under his guidance that Ekaterina Dafovska won the first and the only Olympic gold medal in biathlon in the history of Bulgaria.

In addition, the specialist brought up a pleiad of talented Belarusian sportswomen, including inviting the future four-time Olympic champion Darya Domracheva to join the Belarusian national team.

Belarusian ice hockey player Konstantin Koltsov died suddenly at age (almost) 43. Participated at 2002 and 2010 Winter Olympics. Privately, he was partner of tennis player Aryna Sabalenka.
