Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,218 Posted February 16, 2010 Ok, shit title and description, however, all will become clear. I had a thought today, as I negotiated a loft that was so full of dead mice and rat poison I thought I had stumbled into somesort of rodent Afghanistan.... How many celebs, off the top of your head, can you name who have all met their end in a Hotel room? My first thoughts were "Mama" Cass Elliot in 1974 and Janis Joplin in 1970. The floor is yours..... Mama Cass died in Harry Nilsson's Mayfair flat where Keith Moon kicked the bucket four years later. Harry then sold the flat to Pete Townshend. And to keep things 'Oo-related, John Entwistle did die in a hotel suite, complete with drugs and groupie. Anything to avoid picking up the room service tab. Falkekopf 50 Posted February 16, 2010 Michael Hutchence, singer with Australian band INXS and lover of the former Mrs Geldoff, was found dead in an hotel room I believe. He was discovered hanging behind a door after some sort of sexual shenanigans!

Handrejka 1,904 Posted February 16, 2010 Carlos Alhinho, the former coach of the Angolan national football team, died after falling down an empty elevator shaft in a hotel. DDT, is that something you had in your head already or did you have to look that up, either way it's interesting, I just wondered as I have odd little death facts in my head too. I always thought silent film star Olive Thomas died in a hotel room but she died in hospital a few days later, Virginia Rappe had something nasty happen to her on a hotel room too and died later in hospital. Falkekopf 50 Posted February 16, 2010 Sam Cooke, the legendary singer, was found dead in the office of an hotel after an argument firstly with his girlfriend and then the hotel manager, who subsequently shot him! He was naked apart from one shoe and a jacket.
Monoclinic 39 Posted February 16, 2010 I'm planning on living in a hotel someday. It's all I would ever need. . Wacko lived most of his latter years in a hotel whizzing around the corridors in a golf buggy, or so THAT documentary retold. I could see you banged up in a hotel somewhere. For some strange reason thinking about your plans has made me think of . Anyway back to hotel deaths: Robert Kennedy (in the kitchen with the revolver) and the obligatory obscure Belgian. Handrejka 1,904 Posted February 16, 2010 Martin Luther King (though technically it was a Motel) and the actress Fatty Arbuckle was enjoying congress with, if I remember right. Virginia Rappe, who I think I mentioned earlier. She actually died a few days later in hospital. The revised opinion is that she died of a botched abortion and not from being anally penetrated with a bottle by Mr Arbuckle, either way it was a horrible way to go. Ah, I didn't know her name; The version of events I heard was that she died from a ruptured bladder caused by the excessive weight of Mr Arbuckle during aforementioned congress. Crime Library have quite a good article on it. Magere Hein 1,400 Posted February 17, 2010 How many celebs, off the top of your head, can you name who have all met their end in a Hotel room? Not exactly a hotel, but certainly premises where rooms are rented for short periods: Jean Cardinal Daniélou died in a Paris brothel in 1974. regards, Hein
Tomb raider 9 Posted February 17, 2010 Jazz-legend Chet Baker died in a hotel. Or actually: he fell from a window and died in front of the hotel. Dutch artist, painter, drug addict, bird lover, media personality and alcoholic Herman Brood jumped off the roof of the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel. That's not in a hotel either, but it would qualify technically, wouldn't it? (His wiki mentions the way he tried to get rid of his drug addiction: ' Toward the end of his life, Brood vowed to abstain from most drugs, reducing his drug use to alcohol and a daily shot of speed ("2 grams per day").' Two grams?!?! Wow... that's some rehabilitation program...) Other famous hotel deaths I can think of are cyclist Marco Pantani and Blues Brother John Belushi. Falkekopf 50 Posted February 17, 2010 Oscar Wilde died in an hotel in Paris in 1900. Johnny Thunders, US punk guitarist and singer, died of a drugs overdose in an hotel in New Orleans. When his body was finally discovered rigor mortis had set in so completely that he was seen to resemble a pretzel and the body bag in which he was removed was U shaped! Going Underground 74 Posted February 17, 2010 One of the greatest Bass guitarists of all time in my opinion died the Rock Stars death in a The Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas. The heart attack that claimed John Entwistle from The Who was probably brought on by the stripper and cocaine he went to bed with that fateful night.
Windsor 2,233 Posted February 17, 2010 Who was that English cricket coach for the indian(?) squad who was murdered - but then it turned out that there was absolutely no evidence that he had been murdered,so they decided he actually died of natural causes or something? :S
