Sir Creep 7,070 Posted January 18, 2019 Hillery Eugene "Gene" Price, an honored journalist whose career spanned nearly six decades, died Wednesday. He was 90. Gene Price became editor emeritus at the Goldsboro News-Argus after a nearly 50-year career during which he served as managing editor as well as editor. Price also worked as press secretary for U.S. Rep. Herbert C. Bonner in the late 1940s and was chief of an artillery firing battery with the 28th Infantry Division in Europe during the Korean War. Five governors appointed him to major state commissions, among them the North Carolina Seashore Commission, which led to the creation of the Cape Lookout National Park in 1966. His journalistic achievements were recognized in 2011 by his induction into the University of North Carolina's Media and Journalism Hall of Fame. SC

charon 4,943 Posted January 25, 2019 Can I have a quid for every media outlet that uses the term "doyen" please? Made me dig out the quote I posted in 2015 ideas and possibilities thread, from when he interviewed Joe Bugner back in the day. Joe Bugner: Get me Jesus Christ and I'll fight him tomorrow! Mcllvanney: Joe, you're only saying that because you know he's got bad hands 1

Could've sworn they were the same guy (given they share a name & age proximity), with the deceased Mr. Horowitz having gone through an ideological transformation. You are correct, though. I guess the gentleman who died - and whose show I used to watch - retired from public life awhile ago. Thanks for the clarification.
