YoungWillz 21,046 Posted June 28, 2016 Bud Spencer dead. Kinda hard to explain how big he was to someone who isn't Italian, but this is one my dad will be mourning. I could have sworn I created a thread for him years ago. Hmmmm, oh well, I guess it's vanished into the DL archive vaults :-( Daily Mail Obit for Bud Spencer for the DDP: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/reuters/article-3663061/Italian-Actor-Bud-Spencer-dies-age-86.html
Ankou 17 Posted June 28, 2016 Really sad about Bud Spencer's passing. He was one of my favorite actors of all time. I'd say he's the most popular and famous Italian actor in Europe. His films air constantly on German TV and I've seen most of them at least ten times. R.I.P. Bud. As to Götz George, I've seen all the Schimanski movies, of course, as well as some others, but I wouldn't say I was a big fan. His passing is sad nonetheless. gcreptile 10,972 Posted June 28, 2016 Bud Spencer's death was breaking news in german media. Götz George's death as well. It doesn't seem to stop this year.
Ankou 17 Posted June 28, 2016 Understandable. I don't think there is any country that loves Bud Spencer more than Germany... which is not a bad thing. Germany's obsession with David Hasselhoff on the other hand...

Ankou 17 Posted June 28, 2016 Hmm... don't know any of the male actors. The only famous (abroad) male Italian actors that come to mind right away are Terence Hill (of course) and Roberto Benigni.

guylevesque 18 Posted July 4, 2016 A duo of ailing Iranians for your consideration: Singer Mohammed-Reza Shajarian has recently publicized his battle with kidney cancer, which he apparently was first diagnosed with fifteen years ago. Filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami is in hospital, recovering from cancer surgery. It took me 0.000000000000000000000001 seconds to 'consider' them; coincidentally their obit chances. SC Abbas is dead http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-36709240
