Book 3,561 Posted September 11 French-Italian showstar Caterina Valente has died in her Swiss home on September 9th. She was 93 years old. Her musical and artistic biography cannot be summed up in one or two sentences, as she was multi-talented and recorded songs in 11 languages. In 1955 she also had a top hit in the UK and USA with "The breeze and I", while in Germany she had several number 1 hits and million-sellers, in addition to her film career and TV shows. She was a real show star and will certainly be greatly mourned in Germany. https://www.focus.de/kultur/stars/sie-wurde-93-jahre-alt-caterina-valente-ist-tot_id_260303548.html 3

The Immortal 636 Posted September 30 While looking for news on the annual Medal of Honor convention that is supposed to be going on in the city of San Antonio right now, I came across this. Apparently the National Medal Awards ceremony for China took place and two recipients in particular stood out as very old and frail, the man (definitely military judging by the outfit and the fact he does a salute later on) at the 6:51 mark and the lady at 7:18. They were in wheelchairs and had to be escorted to the ceremony, the old military man somehow stood with assistance and gave a speech at the 22 minute mark of the video (potential immortal?) before being taken back to his wheelchair. @drol @arghton I have zero clue who those two are, but I'm sure you would know.
