Youth in Asia 1,087 Posted January 9, 2006 US Vice-President Dick Cheney has been rushed to hospital after suffering shortness of breath and apparent fluid retention. Mr Cheney, 64, has a history of heart attacks. He had his fourth heart attack at the end of 2000 and in June 2001 he was fitted with a pacemaker.
Octopus of Odstock 2,206 Posted January 9, 2006 It's a terrible month for politicians and.....it's still only the 9th!!!!!! Someone has clearly made it their New Year's Resolution to kill, injure or give ill-health to as many politicans as possible - Arnold Schwarzenegger involved in a traffic accident I see today as well. If this person could aim towards Shamir, Foot, Pym, Ford & Haughey in the next few weeks, I will be most satisfied with my DDP total According to the latest, he should be discharged later today

maryportfuncity 10,662 Posted January 9, 2006 I did... I think... Check the other thread um.. Cheers Octi, I knew I'd posted but couldn't remember where. Either way, our rural roots need a boost and the worldwide publicity they'll gain from the DL is as welcome in Wiltshire as it is in West Cumbria.
football_fan 42 Posted February 12, 2006 I wonder if Dick Cheney will go hunting with Pres Bush in the future Dick Cheney accidentally shoots fellow hunter WASHINGTON (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas. Harry Whittington, a millionaire attorney from Austin, was "alert and doing fine" in a Corpus Christi hospital Sunday after he was shot by Cheney on a ranch in south Texas, said Katharine Armstrong, the property's owner. Magere Hein 1,400 Posted February 13, 2006 I wonder if Dick Cheney will go hunting with Pres Bush in the future Dick Cheney accidentally shoots fellow hunter The, for us, interesting bit of the article: "Fortunately, the vice president has got a lot of medical people around him and so they were right there and probably more cautious than we would have been," she said. "The vice president has got an ambulance on call, so the ambulance came." regards, Hein

Life Begins at 5 o'clock 7 Posted February 15, 2006 In the Washington Post there's a large article about his response and how off-putting it has been, even for the Republicans. It also mentioned how he internalizes many of his emotions. Surely can't be good for his ticker?
Boudicca 702 Posted February 15, 2006 Shooting lawyers? In February? What poor form! Surely even Americans know the season doesn't begin until September. I suspect Cheney will be widely snubbed for this faux pas.

I suspect Cheney will be widely snubbed for this faux pas. A little off-season hunting is more widely accepted than you might realize. Really, it's for their own good as their population is ever expanding and their numbers continuely need to be thinned out. Poor creatures would drown in their own waste paper otherwise, truly a terrible way to go.
