I guess he died either of extreme overeating or malnutrition!

My guess is a heart attack or stroke. Those reality shows are terrible. The so-called "expert" advice are doctors who are more interested in being a celebrity than they are of the well being of the people on these shows. Extreme make-over was one of the worst of these shows https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5e_WikGjXk

Maybe not exactly reality TV, but it's a Bravo show, close enough.

Daisy Llewelyn (Blood Sweat & Heels) has stage 3 liver cancer. A lovely addition to your 2016 list , but she prolly won't obit so I'm posting her here and not under 'Possibilities'

Usual riders, but if you can't believe Rihanna's stylist, who can you believe?

:shock2: Huge omission from my reality show DDP team I blanked on when creating 2016 squads. Her being on a Bravo show meant Daily Mail would copy and paste an Obit from somewhere else if she died.

I agree she was a big miss, I had forgotten about her. And now I'll go back to forgetting about her again.

Frankly, her getting a QO is shocking.

Fuck, that's the lass who was Catfished by the guy who died before the episode aired.

Good episode, but it's got nothing on the Catfish GOAT:

This show is starting to look cursed. This is the 4th person who made it to at least semifinals to pass away.

I hear ya. I don't pay a ton of attention but it just 'feels' like the poorly-named Survivor show has more cadavers but maybe you're right. Per capita Biggest Loser has to be up there too.

I did watch the first 3-4 seasons of Idol before it was old hat, so I remember Mr Smith quite well. His obit was interesting in that he explained he never got a music career going despite being pretty good with his pipes and somewhat popular as I recall. Gotta be true of so so so many of the top 12 contestants each season.

I looked at the number of contestants in semifinals and it seems like there were something like 24 to 32 contestants per season, for a total of 387 contestants. So now the mortality rate is slightly above 1%, which seems reasonable considering it's been an average of 7 years since the show for these contestants.

From an article re: Pulse gay bar shootings, also in Orlando: (http://m.wflx.com/wflx/db_331891/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=qpX7yAHP)

"The incident follows the fatal shooting on Friday of 22-year-old singer Christina Grimmie, who was killed after her concert in Orlando by a 27-year-old Florida man who later killed himself."

I never even began to put those clearly distinct incidents together, why on earth are they?? Say what you will, the inference has been made, and I find it cheap lazy journalism.

An article in today's Observer claims "reality" television is near-enough strangling the life out of itself with increasingly irrelevent ideas.

Just thought I'd - like - share that

Oh aye and...my Antonio Perkins search drew a blank so not sure if the story of the guy shot dead during a live Facebook broadcast is lurking elsewhere on a forum.

Here's the erudite BBC summary of events: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-36566635

'Erudite' is a bit stuffy.

And frankly can be eliminated from the sentence and nothing is lost.

Cheers SC, I was trying to distinguish this take on the story from the tonnage of sensationalist crap already celebrating the same events.
