Handrejka 1,903 Posted May 25, 2016 Someone's forgotten the Pink Panther reboot of the mid-2000s, featuring Jason Statham as the manager of the French national football team. I have indeed Spade, is that my bad or was it such a stinker that its stinking explains why nobody ever told me to see it? The assorted talent that's spread over those films (Kevin Kline, Jean Reno, Emily Mortimer, Kristin Chenoweth, Clive Owen, Beyonce, the aforementioned Statham, Alfred Molina, Jeremy Irons, Lily Tomlin, Andy Garcia, Aishwarya Rai, John Cleese and DL favourites Johnny Halyday and Geoffrey Palmer) means it's usually a winning answer once in every three episodes of Pointless. I think I've seen that. Is it the one where Clive Owen does a really ill-advised James Bond pastiche?
Lord Fellatio Nelson 6,218 Posted May 25, 2016 Looks like the 'Inspector Clouseau' film starring Alan Arkin has also been forgotten, which is no bad thing as it was monsterously shite.

As much as I enjoy Owen as a "thriller released in February with no Oscar aspirations" performer, comedy isn't his strong point.

Tedious beyond belief turned off after 25 minutes. Doesn't look like Drama is his strong point either. TV actor trying to extend beyond his ability?

YoungWillz 20,899 Posted December 21, 2016 The recent death of Herbert Lom set me off wondering who else remains from the Pink Panther movies. Many of the main cast and crew, such as Peter Sellers, David Niven, Capucine and Blake Edwards have long since passed on, but a fair few still remain. Here are a few for starters; Graham Stark (b. 1922) Burt Kwouk (b. 1930) Robert Wagner (b. 1930) Christopher Plummer (b. 1928) Andre Maranne (b. 1926) Fran Jeffries (b. 1937) Claudio Cardinale (b. 1938) William Peter Blatty (co-wrote screenplay for A Shot In The Dark, b. 1928) Fran Jeffries has died aged 79. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/20/movies/fran-jeffries-an-actress-who-performed-a-sexy-samba-in-the-pink-panther-dies-at-79.html?_r=0 Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fran_Jeffries IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0420364/ Meglio Stasera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1b8lsjSG6c

msc 18,388 Posted December 21, 2016 Blatty's still going too, last I checked. Wrote the Exorcist famously, and a novella called Elsewhere. It was originally published in an anthology called 999, and the editor went into full tongue licking mode about how honoured we were to have a story by this chap, so I went into it ready to hate it. Turned out quite good actually, iirc. Also, Andre Maranne has a memorable role (you know it's coming) in a 1960s episode (wait for it...) of Doctor Who ( ) called The Moonbase. Cybermen on the moon, great stuff.
YoungWillz 20,899 Posted December 27, 2016 Liz Smith who has died was in three Pink Panther films. It would have been four, but her scenes were deleted in The Pink Panther Strikes Again!
