Octopus of Odstock 2,195 Posted June 14, 2020 I've always been doubtful about some of the alleged surviving 1950's footballers but never been able to find anything concrete. Until now. Luis Mayanes, 'alive' at 95 - died in 1979, aged just 54. https://www.partidosdelaroja.com/1970/01/lindorfo-mayanes.html However, the two other Chileans listed as alive - Andres Prieto and Manuel Munoz are still with us according to the same site which is quite comprehensive and updated often. I am now pretty confident that the 6 listed alive: Carbajal (Mexico), Prieto and Munoz (Chile), Saguier (Paraguay) and Boniperti and Giovannini (Italy) are very much with us. Perhaps most famous for his time at Milan between 1966 and 1973 where he scored 72 goals in 143 outings for them and Roma where he scored 28 goals in 82 matches. His club career also saw him feature for Fiorentina, Savona and Salernitana, the latter of whom he began his career.
