British actor Alfie Scopp turned 100 this month. He is still alive despite not having a wiki page yet.

https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0778691/

Noticed Scopp has since had a Wiki page created. Has Rudolph the Red Nosed-Reindeer and Fiddler on the Roof among his credits.

Currently reading James Lovelock's Novocene - written when the 100 year old was a mere 99.

Marbles fully intact on this evidence and more foreward thinking, insightful and intelligent than anything I'm about to watch in the first Bojo vs Jezza head-to-head

Last week's article on William Frankland, the 107-year old immunologist now in care home, but reasonably fine:

https://inews.co.uk/inews-lifestyle/people/dr-bill-frankland-oldest-doctor-107-504267

Edit: Hmm, I think I mixed up the actual date of that article... again...

okay, well, to give a little more recent news after all, he suffers from "cervical spondylotic myelopathy":

7)Boris Pahor. The great Slovenian writer, is well enough to give interviews, but did not manage to attend his 106th birthday party in late August.

Boris Pahor more famous than I realised. He's getting a full 60 min documentary about his life on BBC1 on Wednesday night. The Man Who Saw Too Much.

Labour politician, Army officer and ex-Times correspondent Lord Alun Gwynn Jones turns 100 today!

He was ennobled by Harold Wilson in 1964 to serve as the worlds only Minister of Disarmament.

After he retired from thr Lords in 2015, he said "I told Wilson that I would take the job if I was not expected to support every aspect of Labour policy. Wilson puffed on his pipe and said "not many of us do".

Happy Birthday and welcome to the 100 Club :birthday:

Apparently fellow centenarian jazz saxophonist Hal Singer is not in the best health...

(I know it can't be opened by Europeans. Basically it says he can't speak and, if I understand correctly from Google Translate, he is bedridden and "very tired")

What's with all these web sites that can't be accessed in Europe? It never used to be like that ! So annoying !

On another note I managed to find an obit for Joe McQueen though https://ksltv.com/427079/jazz-legend-joe-mcqueen-dies-at-100-years-old/

Coffin - trust me we get plenty of videos or sites that can't be shown in America, some rights thing I guess.  Can be maddening at times.

I think that started when the EU introduced legislation enforcing cookie pop-ups.

You just know that it'll be one of the many annoying EU things that won't get changed if we ever do leave the EU.

Is it common to not know until a while after? Like it says Mrs. Mercier passed on the 4th but was not known about until about 13th perhaps
