But even I can recognise his chin.

Article says:

Jimmy used to take the Kit-Kats from the Kensington Hilton where he stayed with the BBC and give them to her.

So, it's karma, then.

As much as I hate to say it Caroline Aherne has not narrated the last 2 episodes of Gogglebox and the official twitter account has not offered any reason/reassurance to the people who have asked why.

Last year she was photographed looking gaunt when she spoke about her Cancer diagnosis/treatment.

In the paper she was meant to be returning this week to narrate Gogglebox. Unless she has a new deeper voice she is missing again

He should definitely be on the 2016 list, assuming he lasts that long

Robert Duvall turns 85 in January.

He keeps working so seems to be in good health, but I get the feeling he'll go on till he drops.

Peter Sarstedt anyone? Just done a search and can't see any reference to him. He's been ill for a while now. Where will he go to my lovely?

Not in my bed; more's the pity. Love that song, always have and always will.

Think he may be a good shout. No longer able to use a computer according to his website, though that maybe just an excuse.

Keep an eye on Rory Dodd (vocalist - sang with Bonnie Tyler on Total Eclipse of the Heart).

The best of all the years have gone by and now he's only falling apart.

Horseshit. I just did a search and its come up empty other than his great career and being on the road. Provide a link about poor health.

Twenty three hours into the in-depth research for my Death by Numbers squad I chanced on the website of former television presenter Michael Barrett (b. 1928)

Hasn't updated the blog since 2012, at which point he was discussing the positive news (then) about Alzheimers. At that point it was about respite for carers. He's telling us summar, surely.

Next years DL?

http://www.mbarratt.co.uk/

Could be he just wore out on blogging. He has authored books since 2012, although the most recent I can find is his autobiography in 2013.

http://www.kaleidoscopepublishing.co.uk/books-mrnationwide.html

Similarly here is a sept 2013 article about the man with zero indication he is ill, only old.

http://www.express.co.uk/celebrity-news/431103/What-happened-to-Nationwide-s-Michael-Barratt.

Also note the spelling of his surname is Barratt with an A.

Final note, he and his wife started this blog about grandparenting:

http://www.grandparentsnow.com/2015/04/

And the latest entry is from April 2015. Appears nothing wrong with the man but unless you sign up you can't read the articles. I'm guessing he's fine and 100% wits about him.

Just saw the documentary film about Iris Apfel, now aged 94. Renowned style icon would get plenty of coverage, also her husband is now 101 and ailing

Her husband died like two weeks after you posted this JR976evil.

Other than loneliness I can't find nuthin else new.

Jannes Eiselen who starred as Dufresne in season 1 of Starz historical series Black Sails (The History channel have just finished airing season 1 in the UK) was diagnosed with brain cancer before he could start filming season 2

He seems very chatty and very healthy on his Twitter feed. Nothing to see here.

In a move that can either be seen as brave or progressive but certainly not stupid ( :P) by the fellow DL browsers I am using this post to track my growing multitude of teams for next year betwen know and December 31st - I'll leave all picks considered for each one in place even after discounting them, given the absurd amount of competitions we now face I need a one-stop shop that isn't a unreadable notepad document or annoyingly slow openoffice document - alas.

Daniel Fells:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3268557/New-York-Giants-tight-end-Daniel-Fells-danger-losing-foot-MRSA.html

Maybe not an excellent candidate for deathlist, but might be worth considering for another deathpool in which age matters.

Gino Odjick was diagnosed as terminally ill a bit over a year ago, "might" have until early 2018:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/video/news/video-1102838/Terminally-ill-hocky-star-Gino-Odjick-salutes-chanting-fans.html

http://www.theprovince.com/sports/Willes+Rebounding+Gino+Odjick+thankfully+looks+ahead+possible+role+with+Canucks/10777690/story.html

After 7 or more surgeries Fells actually left hospital and appeared on the Giants' sidelines a couple weeks ago.

There is definitely something going on with Nanci Griffith, the American folk singer. She has not been seen in two years, her facebook is full of people asking after her, and in late 2013 and early 2014 there were cancelled performances due to illness and nothing since. Twice beat cancer, looked frail during 2013 and also has arthritis. Reportedly a smoker, but not sure how true that is.

I'm torn between this is either brilliant connecting the dots and Nanci's health is in trouble, or it's much ado about nothing.

Try this supposed information from 2012 on for size (re: arthritis you mentioned) and see if perhaps you don't think she may not be performing etc cuz it's recurred and much worse. But obviously not life threatening, unless she can't scratch her recurring skin cancer when it itches and therein lies the rub.

The leader of the TOP 09 political party and former Czech foreign minister, Karel Schwarzenberg, has announced that he will not stand for re-election to the top party post at its upcoming party congress. His position as party chairman was due to be renewed in November. Schwarzenberg, cited health reasons as one reason for his refusal to stand again.

Semi-vague but one to keep our DL eye on.

SC

http://www.radio.cz/en/section/news/karel-schwarzenberg-to-step-down-as-top-09-party-leader

Edit (11/23): according to this article it may be only due to a loss (not total yet) of his hearing; I guess that's a health reason.

Doctors have diagnosed popular Czech pop singer Karel Gott with a lymph node malignant tumorous disease known as Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Gott has been treated in Prague´s General Teaching Hospital (VFN) since Sunday evening. Doctors made the diagnose during the urgent abdominal surgery that Gott, 76, underwent in Prague´s Institute of Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) last week.

I´m glad that a Czech has finally appeared in any of the threads, what an honour for our little, yet beautiful country!!
Actually I had posted a few days earlier about Karel Schwarzenberg. So that's two in a week!

I was going to withhold some of my choices but, seeing as I don't actually participate in the DDP, I'm not actually affected by giving away my choices (everyone here probably already has the following names queued up for their pools anyway).

Some fringe picks for shadow lists:Stan Mikita (Hockey player): Previously battled oral cancer, now has Lewy Body DementiaChuck Blazer (FIFA Admin): Colon cancer, diabetes, coronary heart disease

I have more written down somwhere... will update later

1. I believe Blazer when he says cancer (for now) is gone. Zero reason to put him on 2016 list, says Sir Creep.

2. As for Mikita, I like his name next year but there IS this (granted its case by case):

"People diagnosed with LBD survive an average of about eight years according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. People with late-stage LBD often lose their ability to communicate, care for themselves and even swallow."

Even if he only gets 2 of his promised 8 years, that eliminates next year. But I can see including him due to other circ's.

I hope you get your points Lord FN cuz frankly it takes cajones to include Alzheimer's sufferers on your list IMHO, short of extremely late stage which in January Hill wasn't. If you don't get your points rest assured Sir Creep will be first in the line of fuckers picking him for 2016.
