The Dead Of 2015

Recommended Posts

I'm surprised that there weren't that many Scott picks on the competitive side to my knowledge. Granted, not all the teams are known yet, but he was young, guaranteed to get something in the Mail, and the fact he didn't tweet since mid November suggested he was circling the drain.

The only reason I picked him was because on MNF Suzy Kolber started crying a few weeks like she was mourning already, otherwise he would not have been on my radar since the type of cancer he had was not disclosed. I could see why he looked like a risky pick to people not familiar with him in the UK.

The reason I didn't pick him was not that he was a "risky pick". I didn't pick him because I'd never heard of him until today.

If they end up finding Richard Simmons, and he's dead, would that count for this year, or last year?

Deathrace wise it'd count for the Raymond Hewlitt memorial award, or summat. 'bout time we had one that did.

One of those I meant to remember about for a cheap point, but forgot about due to my dementia.

On the bright site...at least I know about a care home with an empty room...

With all due respect I didn't think anyone would know who I was talking about if I'd just said his name...

Yes. You're exactly right. And whats with the "due respect"? I guess you didn't want to sully the hero's recognition by saying "Fuck a duck you pedantic cunt". Oh whoops, too late.

(p.s. fairly sure he would have accepted an affectionate "that old bloke" compared to some of the treatment he would of got from ignorant chavs who don't even know who Hitler was)

If you had any respect, you wouldn't have referred to him as "the old bloke".

It'd be a laugh if he went AWOL at his own funeral next week.

I've actually thought about this over the last few hours, and reflected on the contribution Bernard made to the fight to defeat the evil of fascism.I now realise how disrespectful I was referring to him as some 'old bloke'. He was clearly a very brave, spirited, unique individual, the sort who seem to be so rare nowadays, but who were so vital to our steadfastness in fighting Hitler when it looked like all hope was lost. I salute him ,and all his brave colleages, who fought on that beach in 1944. I doubt I would ever have his courage, and I h ope I never have to fight to protect our country and way of his life like they did. If I offended anyone by referring to him as an old bloke I humbly and sincerely apologise. I never intended to disrespect him or what he represents. May he and all the brave men who fought for our freedom rest in peace, and I hope his widow is comforted in this dark hour for her in the knowledge that she was married to a true hero who the whole country will salute and fondly remember

Given the disrespect that is routinely handed out in this forum to all sorts of people, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over the "old bloke" comment Guest.

Rather than refer to Bernard by his name or "Old bloke", yhis should probably be in the "politicans thread" as Bernard Jordan was former Mayor of Hove. So the former Mayor of Hove has died, aged 90.
