He specialized in commercials, jingles, and kitschy commercial presentation soundtracks.

Oh, he's going into our end of year "limbo of the lost" radio show, then.

I'd like that tremendously.

My cousin hosts a radio show broadcasting from Galashiels.

It's quite different than anything else I have heard so I listen intently.

Oh, I didn't know about it. I googled "Limbo of the Lost", wondering if you were serious, but only found a video game.

The show is called Strange Fruit and goes out on Miskin Radio 10-midnight on Sunday (it's Jeremy Smith tonight, me next week), the user-friendly option is to go to Gonzo Multimedia, click their web radio page and find the most recently blogged show there which is our listen again equivalent. At the moment Gonzo are having a month off putting Strange Fruit out and limitiing themselves to catching up our monthly Strange Harvest shows (which round up recent releases). Gonzo had got ahead of Miskin with the pre-recorded shows so this is about getting back to normal.

As a rule we play obscure stuff (Jeremy likes punk and indie - I like eccentrics in general), we've played this amazing grunge crew from the late eighties called Winterset, but I only blather on about them during those periods when Harry Mac is active hereabouts.

Joaquin Andujar has died aged 62. He won the world series with the Cardinals in 1982 http://blog.chron.com/ultimateastros/2015/09/08/joaquin-andujar-former-astros-pitcher-dies-at-62/

I see now you posted this, but as that you were so utterly lazy as to not find a proper thread (I love that subtitle, it's truly befitting) I am leaving mine in the Baseball thread.

Andrew Kohut, the founding director of the Pew Research Center, has died at age 73. The former leader of the polling group that calls itself a "fact tank" had been battling a form of leukemia that his son says was first diagnosed in 2009.

Jonathan Woods, the longest-serving director of Ohio State University's marching band, has died. He was 76.

University spokesman Chris Davey confirmed that Woods died Saturday.

Woods spent 28 years directing the marching band until his retirement after the 2011-12 academic year. Then and now, fans often refer to the band by the initials TBDBITL, for "The Best Damn Band in the Land."

They really are. RIP

Here's on obit http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/34244820(no doubt also appearing in another thread near you). Hope they check properly though before screwing the lid on. That man could take anything thrown at him - often with his head!

Right-wing neo-fascist Romanian politician Corneliu Vadim Tudor dead at 65:

From what I understand, he was the Romanian answer to the likes of Nick Griffin or Jean-Marie Le Pen. The latter of whom, by the way, should definitely be on next year's DeathList (b. 1927). Ditto the author who wrote Camp of the Saints, Jean Raspail (b. 1925). Because, one French right-winger just isn't enough!

You know, who'd have thought of looking there. Is there a hard as nails Tykes thread perchance?
