Magere Hein 1,400 Posted September 16, 2015 President of La Societe Guernesiaise, important political figure of Guernsey and a 'world authority on bats' Pat Costen dies after a short illness at 71: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-guernsey-34256916 Not too long ago, she was in the news because two calves 'invaded' her home. From that article: Mrs Costen, originally from Yorkshire, was also the society's archivist and librarian, the head of the junior section and headed up the affiliated Guernsey Bat Group. I guess La Societe Guernesiaise hasn't many members left now.

You put old Mr Willcocks as a suggestion in a now locked thread, I checked but I'm useless at cross-quoting across different threads so I mentioned your earlier suggestion. http://www.deathlist.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=7118&p=237116

I didn't realize he was but 29 years old. Goodness! Coulda put him in Under 45 thread but prefer him in Taking the Micks :-) I'll happily give you the honour of creating it if you wish. I'm 20% Celtic give or take though it be my most celebrated percentage--and surname. Sir Creep 7,070 Posted September 20, 2015 His fame is tenuous but I've seen worse. Plus I used to have quite a fish collection once. Joseph R. Geraci, a scientist and veterinarian who was a leading expert in marine mammal medicine and aquatic wildlife conservation and a former official of the National Aquarium in Baltimore, died Sept. 10 at his home in Leesburg, Va. He was 77. Toast 16,140 Posted September 20, 2015 Brown bread = dead, and it also adds an extra little nuance to my name Toast (another synonym for dead), since toast can be described as brown bread.
msc 18,442 Posted September 20, 2015 And of course, if you come from up here, there's the phrase "pan breed", which I believe was forever immortalized by Taggart (and the DDP of course).
