"Under medical observation for stress":

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/nov/06/sepp-blatter-stress-fifa

He can't live without FIFA...

They're surviving without him, mind.

A cynical prediction: he'll conveniently hover in the medical twilight zone where his fitness to appear in court is always under threat whilst his hold on life stays up there with the likes of Ernest Saunders.

Probably. Though I wonder how strongly the arm of American justice lingers in the background here.

There something similar going on here in Germany regarding the decision to award the WC 2006 to us. The responsible people are tearing each other apart in the press at the moment. They're selling out each other in the hope of escaping justice.

Ah, the last dictator in Europe is using some of the old tyrant tricks. He was doing the fucking Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah a few months a go!

Predictably shallow trawl of all things Blatter on Channel Five last night suggested he still fancies a shot a honorary president of FIFA if his grasping fingers are ever truly loosened from the top job.

Also pointed out the similarities between FIFA's main boardroom and the war room set for Dr Strangelove!

Gentlemen. You can't fight in here. This is the War Room ...

BBC sees letter from Havelange incriminating Blatter in bribes scandal: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35007626

Prepare for further news about his imminent relapse/fainting fit/hovering between life and death, etc etc...

Aye, but he's FIFA's Ernest Saunders, so a marginal pick for dead pool purposes.

Interesting story. I actually believe that Blatter never participated actively in the corruption itself. But his system was "you can get your money, I just want the job", i.e. he knew all about it, only wanted to top job for himself, and possibly uses his knowledge to block potential rivals. Another indication that he can't live without FIFA - if he had wanted more money for himself, it might have shown that he has other interests in his life, but I suspect he doesn't.

A fair assessment I'd say based on watching Panorama tonight, though Blatter's salary and other benefits leave him extremely wealthy. He may well be on his way to jail, mind, where the top job is something like stamping out library books to fellow inmates.

Blatter appears on panel in front of law students advising on FIFA reform: http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/unlikely-torch-bearer_disgraced-blatter-advises-fifa-on-future-reform/42091580

Maybe future appearances could be via videolink from the remand centre? Or even by séance?

He always loved the attention; don't rule out I'm a Celebrity and related over-paid reality shit (assuming he stays out of/survives jail, obviously).
