James Arthur Ewing was living in Italy by 1961. Probably died there.

Someone really must find a way of accessing the Italian death records. It would resolve so many of these limbo names.

There is - or was - a way of doing it via tax records. But you would have to know what tax district they lived in to do the search.

It was the only way we found the death of an old Italian racing driver as we knew where he lived.

The website is https://agenziaentrate.gov.it/portale/web/english but I can't see anything linking to a search function any more.

Does anyone know if Gina Carroll (sang Shadows of Paris from A Shot in The Dark-1964), is still alive or her birth date? Information seems to be unusually scarce on her. She must be in her eighties now, if she is still alive.

Just reading about the infamous Thurston County ritual abuse case (basically, guy got convicted of raping his own daughters but it's cited as a massive miscarriage of justice based on false memories etc.)

 

Paul Ingram was 57 when released in 2003, anyone know if he's still breathing? The world isn't short of Paul Ingrams and you can understand this guy preferring a low profile in the last 20 years.

I reckon she could very well be alive, but if she does die we likely won't find out.

Next to nothing on social media or Google about her. My last resort was using the British Newspaper Archive, and there were a few interesting results. She made the front page of The Mirror in 1964 after landing the gig with Henry Mancini. All it says is that she was then living in a flat in Paddington but was due to move to the States.

The other results are from local publications in Torquay, Devon from 1958. They simply she's quite young (probably ~18-20?) and refer to her as being a soprano. Likely she was from Devon originally.

I don't know but according to the Minnesota birth records, she was born March 20, 1929, so Wikipedia and IMDb are a year out.

Born Philip John Guard in Rochford, Essex in 1928.

Last acting credit was in 1964. He doesn't appear in the GRO Index so he didn't die in the UK up until 2021. He doesn't appear in 192 People either so isn't resident in the UK.

A search on Ancestry pulls up his fate – emigrated to Italy. "Philip John Guard" is listed in the 2003, 2005, 2010 and 2011 Italian Phone Book Indexes. He was based in Casola, Lunigiana.

The Italian Phone Book Indexes from 2012 onwards are not available on Ancestry, so he could still be living there, though statistically more likely he's dead ofc.

Edit: His ex wife's Guardian obit from May 2012 mentions that he survived her.

Does anyone know about the current status of American actor Edward Marcus, who starred in The Destructors (1974) and Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo (1977). He apparently retired in 2003, but I can’t find anything after that. He was probably born around 1940, so it’s possible he’s still alive and in his early eighties.

It's definitely him.

The same record on Ancestry gives a middle name of Leonard, says he was born in NY and various corresponding records detail his army service during WWII.

This newspaper cutting from 1983 gives a lot of details about him, including army service, where he came from and his middle name, and they all match perfectly.

I see there's occasional mention on Twitter and an updated Wiki that Ian Frederick Rossiter aka Owen If, the drummer with Stereo MCs, died in July 2022.

 

Anything more substantial? Nowt on the Forum afaik.
