YoungWillz 21,067 Posted November 29, 2015 Ok, I have PM'ed over a list of 50 possibles, msc. This will be my shadow list for 2016, wasn't going to bother but as I've picked a nifty 50, what the heck.
msc 18,480 Posted November 29, 2015 Received, thanks!
RadGuy 1,614 Posted November 29, 2015 My prediction is that the crowdsourced list will beat the Deathlist. It seems like Shadow Lists have had more hits than the Deathlist every year, except this year, because the Deathlist got lucky with all the 90-year-olds dying. msc 18,480 Posted December 8, 2015 We have 6 lists in - a growing rate so early in the month, I think. Only 2 celebrities appear on all lists so far: one had an important job, and the other is a popular name in the DDP. It has also informed me that a reasonably known but aged actress is in poor health. In case the poster who sent that name in is hoping for a unique, I wont name them, and I'll say that the only actress on my own shortlist is Joanne Woodward, and she is unlikely to be picked.* *Naturally, if Anne Hathaway announces terminal brain cancer on Christmas Day, I'll be right there, alongside every other DDP player in history, of course. There is some traction behind some interesting celebs though, including one I had never heard of before in August, but who I now wouldn't be surprised if they showed up on the Deathlist next year. They've got that type of public conscience (by deadpool standards) poor health momentum, seemingly. In fact, I've also seen their name show up on other forums deadpool threads. Funny how that works!
Handrejka 1,904 Posted December 8, 2015 I've just popped mine in.
msc 18,480 Posted December 8, 2015 Got it, thanks. You keep the trend going of those two people being on every list so far, too!
Handrejka 1,904 Posted December 8, 2015 I think I can work out who one of those is, not sure on the other, male or female?

Death Impends 8,003 Posted December 8, 2015 Will take a wager their surnames share a beginning letter, but won't pry further... Think I have most of my names figured out, but still figuring out the placement. Will still wait a couple weeks to submit to be sure.
msc 18,480 Posted December 18, 2015 Thirteen days left to enter many of the 2016 competitions. And thirteen days left to submit a team for the Crowdsourced Deathlist. We've got 10 entries so far, and I can announce that not a single celebrity appears on every single list. No one is yet assured any position whatsoever, so every list counts. I've also had my first posthumous entry. I wont name the person who sent it in, or the celebrity involved. I'll merely note that the person in question died a few years ago, and it was fairly substantially publicized. Still, not quite as bad as the time Odstock mentioned that a Derby Dead Pool team had entered a celebrity who died in 1879!
CaptainChorizo 1,985 Posted December 18, 2015 I have a hunch who one high profile name who was on all the first 6 lists but I could see newer entries not adding him since he claimed to now be cancer free.

msc 18,480 Posted December 27, 2015 The arrival of three ballots in my inbox today reminds me to the give the 4 day warning for anyone still wanting to send in a team of 50 contenders.
Gooseberry Crumble 5,346 Posted December 27, 2015 I will PM a list later tonight. Thanks for doing this competition
Dr. Zorders 1,271 Posted December 28, 2015 This thread is gonna look so stupid if the guys decide they can't be bothered to do one for 2016.
Spade_Cooley 9,540 Posted December 29, 2015 I think I might make Glynis Johns my #1 pick because I'd completely forgotten she was still alive.

msc 18,480 Posted January 1, 2016 Voting has now closed, and the votes have been tallied up. I can confirm the following people just missed out: Lupita Tovar, Ayatollah Khamenei, Lys Assia, Peter Vaughan, Paul Gascoigne, June Brown, William Russell, Jimmy Greaves, Peter Maxwell-Davies, Caroline Aherne. There was nearly 400 picks in all, but those were the ones that came within 10 points of a spot at the end. Edited as Handrejka pointed out a duplicate Ian St John. msc 18,480 Posted January 1, 2016 50-41 50. Nobby Stiles, World Cup winner, 109 points 49. Fernando Ricksen, Rangers player, 111 points 48. Bob Dole, Bob Dole, 113 points 47. Prunella Scales, Sybil Fawlty, 113 points 46. John Noakes, Shep's pet, 113 points 45. Vera Caslavska, Gymnast, 115 points 44. Cliff Michelmore, Man on the Telly, 117 points 43. Jake Lamotta, Raging Bull, 118 points 42. Bruce Forsyth, Nice to see you, 120 points 41. Liz Dawn, Corrie, 123 points Nobby Stiles started a sporting trend to the list. Pancreatic cancer sufferer Caslavska a brave choice with multiple supporters going big on the points for her. Some old Deathlist favourites and some interesting new comers.
msc 18,480 Posted January 1, 2016 40th to 31st place 40. Ian St John, footballer, 125 points 39. The Former Pope Benedict XVI, retired God man, 126 points 38. Sinead O'Connor, singer, 129 points 37. Desmond Tutu, apartheid activist, 135 points 36. Joey Feek, cancer singer, 136 points 35. Jenny Diski, Child of Lessing, 140 points 34. Johan Cruyff, turn, 152 points 33. Mikhail Gorbachev, 158 points 32. Liliane Bettencourt, lotsa money, 165 points 31. Robert Mugabe, dictator, 173 points Sinead O'Connor, really? Still, thats democracy for you. Feek and Diski didn't feel Deathlisty, but the voters pushed them up - they're certainly ill enough. Gorbachev was top 10 after the early votes, then his votes dried up entirely, and he nearly crashed out entirely.
RadGuy 1,614 Posted January 1, 2016 Well, of course! Sinead is probably gonna blow herself up.
msc 18,480 Posted January 1, 2016 30th to 21st place 30. Mary Tyler Moore, forum favourite, 175 points 29. Glen Campbell, Rhinestone cowboy, 183 points 28. Ian Brady, 190 points 27. Sumner Redstone, steak lover, 193 points 26.. Stephen Hawking, 195 points 25. Joost van der Westhuizen, rugby player, 209 points 24. Leslie Philips, cad, 215 points 23. Valerie Harper, 217 points 22. Denis Norden, my word, 226 points 21. Herman Wouk, writer, 256 points Deathlist forumites keep faith with Valerie even if the main site doesn't. Joost got on the list, seemingly begrudgingly, few folk had him in their top tens, and he slowly crept up the list. Sumner Redstone had an early flourish to rise this high, and then a strong finish. msc 18,480 Posted January 1, 2016 10th Place King Bhumibol 373 points King of Thailand, grumpy and seemingly permanently invalided with maladies. 9th place Kirk Douglas 378 points Spartacus actor - but does he have skeletons in his closet? 8th place Jimmy Carter 385 points Voters kept faith with Jimmy, despite the farmer's recent alleged recovery from terminal cancer. 7th place Joao Havelange 388 points Former FIFA president rung in Hogmanay, with more corruption allegations.
